skoll (123), Traverse City, Michigan, USA Jan 27, 2009 12 oz Bottle form a holiday pack that received fro Christmas. Pours an amber brown with a short lasting light tan head. Very mild, uninteresting aroma. Flavor is malty with a spicy finish. Palate is somewhat thin initially but leaves a thicker feel after taste. A pretty good winter beer with decent flavor but not particularly interesting. Joakgust (320), Stockholm, Sweden Jan 27, 2009 Bottle, 33 cl - Light brown to amber beer with a large frothy head. Caramel malt dominated aroma with hints of toffee. Flavor is malty with notes of caramel. Rather fullbodied with a medium salty bitter end. Pretty good winter seasonal! johnnyoski (160), Macomb, Michigan, USA Jan 24, 2009 12oz bottle: Pours a rusty brown color with a decent sized tan head. Caramel and toasted biscuit aroma. Initially quite sweet as there is a definite caramel taste. Flavors dull to dry bread taste. Medium body with pleasant, soft mouthfeel. Not bad but nothing special. I remember more spice taste to this beer in years past. tarheels86 (703), Washington DC, USA Jan 23, 2009 On tap. Pours a dark, clear amber with a small tan head. No lacing. Aromas of brown sugar, molasses, spice. Taste is incredibly sweet with a watery mouthfeel. Not sure how this is a weizen bock- perhaps a normal bock? Tart aftertaste with some cardboard. Inoffensive but another lackluster Sam Adams creation. mikalooch (158), , New Jersey, USA Jan 21, 2009 Bottle. Pours clear orange brown with a midsized white head. Malty caramel in the nose, not much else. Malty caramel taste also, do not taste much spice, it is kind of creamy tasting also. Slightly viscous mouthfeel, not much carbonation. Average but enjoyable. Lans (19), , Kentucky, USA Jan 19, 2009 12 oz bottle
Pours a dark brown with a moderate tan head. Aroma favors sweet caramel malt, with some spice (maybe a touch of nutmeg). Flavor continues to favor caramel, but with a slight buttery note that is reminiscent of caramel corn. Thin mouthfeel compared to other winter beers (it is a lager after all). Overall a decent beer at a fair price. ant880 (39), Brooklyn, New York, USA Jan 19, 2009 Decent winter beer. Brownish pour and a good balance. Not much to say it is an average run of the mill beer. chandler0201 (341), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jan 19, 2009 Amber pour with an average white head. Some seasonal spices and malts on the aroma and somewhat of a hoppy finish.
