| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 20, 2008 12oz bottle from Jans Wine and Boos#1 (Tampa, FL). Pours a dark brown amber color with red highlights. Massive twi finger tan head settles slowly and heavily laces the glass. Aroma is slightly malty and wheaty with some slight notes of chocolate, spice, and caramel. Flavor is malty and slightly sweet with notes of wet sour hay, some caramel and nut overtones, faint bitterness toward finish. Generally light to medium body with a slightly bitter malt finish. A little too watery and devoid of flavor for a winter/christmas beer. rader58 (168), Leawood, Kansas, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 14, 2008 On tap pint at Millers Ale House, Lombard Il. Amber hue, fair, white head and hardly any lace. Served a little too cold but detected aroma of roasted malt, yeast, and maybe caramel. These and some hop bitterness were all I could muster in the flavor department. Okay as a food compliment. ansermadide (507), Kyle, Texas, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 13, 2008 Sample at December 12, 2008 Beer Club meeting. Orange-brown, clear and carbonated. No real head... the body looks very thin as well. Aroma is malty... flavor is sweet and malty, but not overly so. Yep, thin body. Chilly. Tastes amber. Easy going down. Not bad... standard SA quality. homeslice (36), , California, USA
