clueo (112), Pennsylvania, USA Nov 26, 2008 I really enjoy Sam’s Winter. A nice dark beer with a bit of spice. It has a nice light cofee color and a smooth spicy finish. A good drinkable beer for a Winter’s night! boFNjackson (1233), Portland, Oregon, USA Nov 26, 2008 After awhile, it seems a lot of the Sam Adams’ lagers start to taste the same. Bottle... Poured amber with a thin head. Aroma was malty with a spicy sweetness. Smooth palate with buttery malt notes, and toffee or caramel sweet flavors. Sorta run of the mill bock. unclemike (834), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA Nov 26, 2008 Pours a dark copper-amber with minute slightly offwhite head that dissipates quickly; nose is nutty caramel, rather sweet, sort of a nutmeg/hazelnut aroma; again very sweet on the palate, wheat shows up in the decent body for a lager, mild minty hops towards the finish. Pretty palatable if not very fortifying mcjay (301), Neenah, Wisconsin, USA Nov 21, 2008 Dark copper color with an amber hue and a nice off white head. Light cinnamon aroma with a hint of hops. Taste is a little dry with a nice grainy flavor. Has a hint of caramel malt and a strong cinnamon taste. A great winter warmer and one of my favorite holiday brews. scooterbub (332), Lander, Wyoming, USA Nov 20, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark copper color with a large, light tan head that fades. Taste is of malt, hops, caramel and spice. Well balanced and is drinkable, but has a thin body. Aroma is similar, but is more muted. Very easy to drink and is a pretty enjoyable seasonal offering. ericandersnavy (1039), crossroads, Texas, USA Nov 20, 2008 bottle thanks to swalden 28. poured a clear dark amber/brownish with a thick beige head and nice lacing. maybe my nose was off on this but i got some vanilla ice cream, caramel, toffee, and some slight floral notes, and hops. flavor of caramel and spices. i wish the flavor was a complex as the nose. this had a med body and med carb. not a bad brew at all. WakeandBake (422), Greenville, Michigan, USA Nov 19, 2008 Bottle.A nice dark copper pour with a one finger white head. Aroma is of sweet caramel malt and some spice. The flavor really shines, sweet malt with a hint of citrus, some cinnamon, maybe some coriander ,very balanced. Creamy mouthfeel, with soft carbonation, and a dash of hops in the finish. TeamTrappist (363), jericho, New York, USA Nov 19, 2008 Tap. Poured a thinnish red/brown, with no head. Had a sort of sour and malty nose. Flavor was similar to the nose, and to their regular lager with some mild spice notes. This is very malty in throughout and in the finish. Not my first choice.
