Info: 355ml bottle, 16/2-2007 rbrazell (57), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Jun 24, 2008 Pours amber in color. Nose of malts and spice, some citrus. Pretty much the same in the mouth. Pretty good winter beer. hoplover (166), Corpus Christi, Texas, USA Jun 7, 2008 From what I can remember of this beer (it’s been a while since I’ve tied it) it’s pretty good for the winter time. I’m not that into wheat beers but I tried it and it wasn’t bad. Dmalone102 (216), Denver, Colorado, USA Jun 6, 2008 I had this on tap this evening while bowling (not that that matters). The Winter lager had a nice Amber color that I liked, but had no head. This was probably due to the glassware at the bowling alley, so I still gave it a 3 for appearance. If I were judging it against style, it doesn’t taste like a bock to me. If I were judging it as a continental lager, or a European dark lager, it would get big points. The malty flavor dominates, but it’s not too sweet. I drank it pretty quickly, so it must have been decent. For the record, it was the only beer that I had tonight, so I feel confident in my rating.
yobdoog (1425), Woodridge NY, New York, USA Jun 5, 2008 Overall a simple easy drinking balanced with a hint of spice beer. After a pint it is lacking complexity but for what it is its not bad. Caramel and some nuttyness with winter spices. rbod (25), Davie, Florida, USA Jun 3, 2008 I like the spicy flavor of this one. I remember it being pretty thick, but very tasty. Not exactly a beer you want to drink in quantity though. phishpond417 (1861), Madison, Wisconsin, USA May 12, 2008 Nice beer overall- pours a rich copper colour, with a small to medium sized tan head thats gone before you know it. moderately sweet and bready A tummy warmer with lots to offer, dark fruit- particularly cherries and apples. ThaBobfather (178), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA May 11, 2008 I very quality lager for the warming of the cheeks. I drank it for most of December and just finished my last bottle. It is a bit spicy like many winter beers with some other layers of a good flavor.
