Dark amber in color with the spices that make it a good seasonal beer. I still prefer the Sam Adams Lager or the Boston Ale over this one, even in the winter. Spicy, malty aroma, medium tan head and a pretty good amount of lacing. This is a little more hearty than their standard lager. Malty and spicy with some sugar notes in the taste. A sour finish and aftertaste. A decent seasonal selection from Sam Adams.

Really nice aroma and flavor. Kind of spicy with winter flavors like nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, and vanilla. With such a heavy flavor the body is surprisingly light. Even so it’s hard to drink more than two as sort of a desert beer.

0.33L bottle. Small quickly dissapearing head. Crystal clear light brown colour. Aroma of malt with notes of vanila and sweet fruit. Malt dominates the one dimensional flavour profile and the aftertaste is pleasantly sour, the body is dissapointingly light. I was expecting a beer with a bigger presence and this brew is quite light.

Bottle. 5.6% ABV. Very pretty amber color with a big slowly-diminishing beige head. Spicy nose with ginger and some hints of cinnamon, some malt and caramel and notes of wheat. Flavor is sweet with malt and caramel, spices, rather faint hints of wheat and some light sourness towards the finish. Light to medium-bodied. Doesn’t taste like a Weizen Bock and nothing great whatever style it actually is. OK.

This was better (and darker) than I expected it to be. Overall, it tasted fine, but I wouldn’t jump for joy upon drinking it again. I could use more malt. It tasted similar to their regular Boston Lager, only not as good.

Bottle I’ve had very good results with this one. Dark brown color. Decent thick head. Nice sessionable lager, in my opinion.

Overall this beer is pretty good. I don’t think you could drink a sixer of it, but thats not the point. Great reddish brown color followed by nose of malt. It is very thick on the palate, and it tastes great. Would buy again.
