Samuel Adams Winter Lager

Good looking beer, poured a frothy half inch head that dissipated quickly but left good lacing. Noticed an aroma of hops as well as a satisfying malt aroma. Spices and hops balance the sweetness of the toasted malts, but malts win out in a sweetish finish. All in all, a very enjoyable beer for the season.

Clear copper pour with a big offwhite head. Smell is tart malt with spices, and I got no wheat from it. Taste is spiced like an english strong ale. Perhaps some biscuity notes. I didn’t see this as a weizen bock at all, but still enjoyed the beer. To me this was a classic example of a good Christmas beer. Worth trying and I seemed to have enjoyed it more than my rating indicates.

Bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of carmel, spice and a hint of fruittiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of burnt carmel, light spice and a hint of dark fruit with a smooth dry moderatly bitter finish.

Enjoyed on tap. Creamy, drinkable. Slightly spicy with malt taste. Not bad, would definitely order again.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of Jim and Justin. Pours amber with red hues. A rocky off white head, about an inch thick , dissipates slowly with good lacing. Malty nose, a touch of chocolate malt and spice. Malty taste, caramel with wheat undertones. A touch of spice. Not terribly bad, but not all that stand out. Drinkability is pretty high, though.

Nice amber color, good spice in the background, a little thin in texture. Better than most Sam Adams beers.

Draft. Dark amber color with off white head. Mild aroma of spice and malt. Malty taste with hint of caramel. Not that good.
