rds (224), USA Jan 12, 2008 Nice amber color, good spice in the background, a little thin in texture. Better than most Sam Adams beers. jsh12bama (335), Alabama, USA Jan 11, 2008 Draft. Dark amber color with off white head. Mild aroma of spice and malt. Malty taste with hint of caramel. Not that good. moseslikesbeer (183), conestoga, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 11, 2008 bottle and tap. for some reason I like it more from the bottle. this is an amber brown color with a lot of head that lasts the whole beer. there is a bitterness to this beer that I’m not quite sold on but it’s not bad. A good winter beer for sure. mabel (2530), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 11, 2008 [924-20071206] Tap @ Meg O’Malleys. Grainy aroma hints at allspice. Clear, dark orange brown body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head. Grainy malt flavour has a bit of toasted boozy yeast. Medium body. Good to try. sstackho (249), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 10, 2008 12oz bottle from Clarendon Wines in Boston. Pours a clear dark gold with decent head and nice lacing. Aroma is all malt. The flavour is pretty nice - and not all malt as I was fearing. It’s well rounded with a decent amount of fruitiness. Spices do not stand out, but perhaps they contribute to what I’m tasting. I’m pretty happy with this one. toddbates (95), USA Jan 9, 2008 decent beer but not outstanding. not even sam adams best offering. i had it from a bottle and it poured ruddy amber and a creamy head but was too thin for me garza (131), Caracas, Venezuela Jan 8, 2008 Good beer, Full flavor, not heavy at all for been a winter beer. I had this one on draft in Taco Mac.. A couple or three of this one are enough. tytoanderso (1382), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA Jan 7, 2008 12oz bottle. Slightly stewed vegetable aroma. Dark fruit esters. Good amount of toffee malt. Other than that, fairly bland but inoffensive. Pours an attractive rich, thick looking amber. Dark fruit jam, warm banana, with some cream of wheat. Medium bodied. Inoffensive and drinkable.
