Jan 8, 2008 Good beer, Full flavor, not heavy at all for been a winter beer. I had this one on draft in Taco Mac.. A couple or three of this one are enough.

Jan 7, 2008 12oz bottle. Slightly stewed vegetable aroma. Dark fruit esters. Good amount of toffee malt. Other than that, fairly bland but inoffensive. Pours an attractive rich, thick looking amber. Dark fruit jam, warm banana, with some cream of wheat. Medium bodied. Inoffensive and drinkable.

Jan 7, 2008 Definitely my favorite seasonal lager from Sam Adams. I love its dark amber appearance, sweetness and its exceptional smoothness. It’s a great beer to enjoy during the holidays.

Jan 6, 2008 Picked up a sixer of this to ring in the New Year. Plus, Sam Adams makes decent beer so when I see a new one I haven’t had I always get it. Ok pours out a reddish brown with a decent tan head bubbling up. Aroma is rather plain a bit sweet and some light spices comming through. On first sip a deep malt presence is detected as caramel flavors pour in. Next comes a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg. This was ok but I’m not really a huge fan of spiced beers. A light bitterness at the tail end of the sip as the hops make thier stand. Not too bad.

Jan 6, 2008 12 fl oz bottle. Had this out of a 2007 Sam Adams Seasonal Selection box. Coming from England, I enjoy a good winter ale, so a winter lager looked as if it could be good. I was wrong! This brew is pretty much the same as their Boston Lager, although darker in colour. It had caramel notes to it but hardly a “warming” brew. Too thin of the palate for my liking.

Jan 5, 2008 Appearance: Pours a clear, bright amber body with a full, foamy off-white head.
Smell: Aroma of toasted wheat and caramel with notes of citrus peel, nuts, and freshly-grated spices.
Taste: Caramel and wheat with a medium sweetness and spice character. Light, lemony citrus. Faint hint of bubblegum. Mild bitterness sets in before the mineral water finish. Sweetish, grainy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Soft mouthfeel.
Drinkability: A decent wintertime beer and one of the better offerings in the Sam Adams Box of Winter Delights.

Jan 5, 2008 Overall, I am not a fan of Sam Adams, but I really like the Winter Lager. Like most Sam Adams beers, there is a wonderful hoppy smell and a dark deep amber color. The hops add a nice excitement to the palate but the overall taste feels bland. Good beer though.

Jan 4, 2008 A 12 oz bottle with a notch system for freshness. The beer poured a nice copper body with a creamy head. smells of citrus and sweet malt. Taste of sweet malt but not too much, good balance. Carbonation and lacing are perfect.
