On tap: Had this one on tap in Saginaw, Mich with KingofCastle. Apparently, I enjoyed the spicey roasted malts more than him. I actually enjoyed this and wouldn’t hesitate to order it again and again.

Poured from a bottle. Pours a deep red amber color. Nice foamy head. Smells of malt with a citrus hint, maybe some spice. Has a medium mouthfeel and taste is mostly caramel malt. Not bad at all.

Poured amber with a good amount of head. This winter brew is excellent. It incorporates a light hit of spices to complement a smooth, malty brew. Hits the spot during the cold winter months.

Amber pour and plenty of frothy head. Aroma is strongly fruity, similar to banana bread. Flavor is malty with a touch of spices and very little bitterness. A bit thin for a winter brew I thought but this makes it a bit more refreshing than a warmer. I enjoy this much more than many Sam Adams seasonals and is very nice on draft.

Twelve ounce bottle. I like Sam Adams and Sam Adams Light but for some reason their seasonal beers taste like cardboard. Drank only one. I’ll give it another try if I see it on tap.

a traditional bock in style; some spiciness in taste with touch of cinnamon; better on tap; malted wheat not too strong in taste, but affected allergies slightly; will continue to buy as a seasonal brew.
