| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 25, 2007 a kind of candy beer with nice tight bubble carbonation. and the fact that it is a -candy yet still beer- is good because it is refreshing. the aroma is low and really barely noticeable. sweetish with a quality nut and tangy yet soapy quality that for some reason is not offensive. alcohol at a respectable level for showing off their ability to conceal. cannot help but notice that Sam Adams is clearly addressing many peoples expectation that they re-assume their dominence in craft brewing or at least establish a minimal standard that is appropriate for this companies accomplishments. troopie (862), USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 25, 2007 Bottle. Poured old blood red with a foamy off white head. Citrusy and herby aroma. Wheaty body with ginger notes, I didn’t find any cinnamon. Biscuity finish. Enjoyable. It’s quite malty, though there are plenty enough hops to balance it out. It’s quite smooth, good in cold weather, and overall a great session beer. Too bad it’s only available three months. $7 for the pack here, well worth it! thekmoonlegend (93), Lynn, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 24, 2007 The aroma is not strong at all. Very malty, but goes down smoother than I expected. I enjoy this beer on its own on a cold night. Decent color but lacking head. In my opinion the 2007 batch is much improved over last year’s. crowderm (277), Recklinghausen, Germany
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 22, 2007 Pretty good brew. Spicy and malty in the aroma, taste and finish. Not a lot of hop in the flavor, which makes the finish a little to sweet for my taste. FlyingSwine (169), Littleton, Colorado, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 22, 2007 Great looking beer in the glass that disappoints. Was hoping for far more than I received. Aroma was weak, and the taste seemed burnt. Mouth was overly carbonated and thin. joekfsu (138), Boardman, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 22, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours a dark amber with 1 cm off white head that is mostly lasting. Aroma is light, only able to get a hint of gingerbread. Initial taste of ginger, spice, and citrus. Hint of hops balanced with sweetness at the end. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, slight lacing. Alcohol is hidden well. Very drinkable beer and look forward to it every year. TikiE (360), Sylva, North Carolina, USA
