COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bold and rich, with a touch of holiday spice. The first thing one notices about a Samuel Adams® Winter Lager is the deep ruby color. Then comes the magical aroma which promises something special on the tongue. The cinnamon, ginger, and hint of citrus from the orange peel blend with the roasty sweetness of the malts to deliver a warming, spicy flavor. On the palate Samuel Adams Winter Lager is rich and full bodied, robust and warming, a wonderful way to enjoy the cold evenings that come with the season.

Bottle. Deep brown , mostly clear. Clean, slightly roasty aroma. Good. Malty with a decent ammount of roastiness and some hops.

Draft. Clear red in color poured with no head. Some caramel in the aroma. The flavor included cinnamon and ginger but could not pull out the citrus described in the commercial deScription. Overall, it an enjoyable easy drinking beer.

Tap @ RVC. Light brown with oatmeal head and light lacing. Smells like cereal and cigarette ash. Tastlike cereal.

I like the color of this lager. The cinnamon and ginger are subtle, additive but balanced. This has an nice balance of body and hops. Head retention is moderate. The warming is great for a cold day up north. This beer is easy to drinking but not overly complex.

Ruby red clear pour fizzy and big head. Some spicy notes in aroma, flavor light. Not too much to this winter brew.

Bottle. Sweet, brown sugar, strawberry and cherry notes, light spice and yeast. Sparkling clear reddy amber colour. 50p bargain!

Bottle from B&M, Birmingham. Not too bad this. Had elements of a nice Bock - brown sugar, dark mushy malt grass, some warmth (not much but some). Smooth enough.

Copper coloured, good thickish white head. Lovely nose of spice/malt/caramel/herbs. Smooth, malty palate with toffee and spice creeping in on the finish, good body, and a nice long finish.....really like this, especially at 50p from B&M, I just bought one bottle, I’ll head back down tomorrow, hopefully they’ll have had a delivery!

Bottle from a while ago (obviously) Copper color with a large head with a nice amount of lacing, solid. Sweet malts and light alcohol in aroma along with light chocolate, light fruit, caramel, and maybe baking (cookies?) Flavour is similar with caramel, malts, fruits and a hint of spice. Finish isn’t strong enough at the end but it works quite well for a winter brew. Solid work.
