COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bold and rich, with a touch of holiday spice. The first thing one notices about a Samuel Adams® Winter Lager is the deep ruby color. Then comes the magical aroma which promises something special on the tongue. The cinnamon, ginger, and hint of citrus from the orange peel blend with the roasty sweetness of the malts to deliver a warming, spicy flavor. On the palate Samuel Adams Winter Lager is rich and full bodied, robust and warming, a wonderful way to enjoy the cold evenings that come with the season.

Pours a clear reddish brown with minimal head a little or no lacing. Cinnamon, ginger and orange spice tones. A pretty good beer for the season. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: NOV 30, 2014 Aunt Linda freebie. Aroma: Bready caramel aroma; decent cinnamon presence with a touch of citrus. Appearance: Rich copper color with lively carbonation supporting a foamy bone head that settles into a thick skin. Flavor: Subdued up front with more bread than anything; spices become more apparent toward the finish, especially the citrus. Malts take on a touch of nuttiness here and there. Palate: Medium body, sticky texture, lively carbonation, slightly astringent finish. Overall: Completely decent winter seasonal; would drink again but not seek out on my own. Like a spiced bock, really.

From bottle, smoky, malty aroma, medium brown color with white head, a little malty taste up front, followed with cascade of ginger, cinnamon, and other herby/vegetal flavor. Followed with slight hoppy finish and some malt at end. Tasty.

Draft pour. Pours a dark amber color with a wet, malty aroma. Pretty good, easy drinking beer here, that is definitely a winter beer. Bold flavors all throughout with mild spices and toasty flavor. Medium body with a somewhat empty finish. I’m not put off by this I any way. Pretty good beer.
