smaynard6000 (66), New Castle, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 22, 2007 Bottle. Pours a solid copper color with a small tan head. Bit of an alcohol flavor with a bit of fruitiness. Unimpressive, but not a bad brew. cryfreedmb (112), Ocean, New Jersey, USA Nov 21, 2007 Not really picking up much of an aroma here. The pour however is very nice. Color is copper with a one inch tan head. Flavor is of spice, a bit of alcohol and a few things my rookie palate isn’t picking up very well. Overall a decent beer but I’m not getting that warm hoilday feel from it. TheBeerMaster (100), Little Falls, New Jersey, USA Nov 21, 2007 Updated: Nov 27, 2007Pours a deep amber. Next time you treat yourself to a warm slice of apple pie or a gingerbread cookie, pour a tall glass of Samuel Adams Winter Lager. The desserts will pair nicely with the malty sweetness and spicy cinnamon in the brew. TheBeerGod909 (43), Aurora, Illinois, USA Nov 20, 2007 Pours with a tight, medium, tan head. Aroma is reminiscent of orange, with a bit of spice. Flavor is sweet and hoppy, and leaves a nice aftertaste which isn’t overpowering. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA Nov 20, 2007 From the Sam Adams Holiday pack. Pours a darkish clean copper with a medium head. Aroma is roasty caramel, malts, ripened fruit. Flavor is fairly big caramel malts, licorice, sweetened fruit. PhillyHomeBrew (176), Forest Hills, New York, USA Nov 20, 2007 Brown body with quickly fleeting white head. Cherry and prune aromas mixed with malt and a tiny bit of hop aroma. Flavors of prunes and licorice. Gin Mill NYC thenumber1g (68), Cary, North Carolina, USA Nov 19, 2007 This is a nice beer for cold winter nights it’s smooth and tastes great after dinner. I especially liked the aroma of this beer, which makes it seem more like the holidays are around the corner. I love the hint of caramel in every smell and taste! MoDog (910), Griffith, Indiana, USA Nov 19, 2007 On tap and served in a tall lager glass. This beer poured a dark mahogany with a fluffy off-white head that was short lived. A bit of light lacing was left around the glass. The aroma was made up of toasted wheat, caramel, and faint hops. The flavor included wheat, caramel, and a slightly spicy hop finish. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with a healthy amount of carbonation. Decent taste combined with excellent drinkability.
