tgncc (796), Bellmore, New York, USA Nov 13, 2007 Malty, fruit aroma of a bock, generally appealing. Nice brown/red color. Taste is similar to some Marzens, a little fruity, and toasty, some yeast. Palte was a little bland, but not unpleasant. Decent beer. Probably better on tap than in a bottle. Beerlando (2283), Orlando, Florida, USA Nov 13, 2007 Crystal clear, copper-amber body. A large, foamy, cream colored head settles to a 1mm film, leaving snakes of lacing behind. The aroma shows dried fruits, mostly cherries, caramel, bread dough, and minimal floral hops. The flavor has a toasted caramel malt base, with cinnamon and a doughy yeast. The dried cherries really define themselves now. Medium bodied and pretty smooth. The finish is short, peppery, and floral. Definitely doesn’t say Weizen Bock to me, though it is decent nonetheless. ColonelCash (9), USA does not count Nov 12, 2007 I enjoyed the color and flavor of this beer, the winter elements were more prominent once the beer warmed up a bit...although ice cold it was very tasty as well. AMN (127), Dublin, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 12, 2007 Nice amber color with a malty taste and light spice. Alcohol is very obvious, though this is probably intentional given the season. Alldaydrinker (557), Norwood, Massachusetts, USA Nov 12, 2007 Pours an amber colour with a small offwhite creamy head. Aroma of toasted malts, light fruits & nuts. Initial taste is toasty and hints of caramel. Alcohol makes a slight apparency before finishing into a mild bitter hops. Light - medium body, slight head retention. Angeloregon (2024), Portland, Oregon, USA Nov 12, 2007 Thanks to Mario for the 12-ounce bottle--Poured a deep, dark amber-mahogany with a decent medium-sized creamy head. Nose of robust malts and mild floral hops. Nose reminded me of a marzen/Oktoberfest with a distinct sweetness. Mild silky flavor with hints of caramel and burnt malts. Drinkable, but less so as it warms up and overly sweet and boozy presence becomes more apparent. shakespeare33 (120), san diego, California, USA Nov 11, 2007 12oz bottle.. pours a very dark amber/driftwood color, smells of woodburnt hops and caramel.. the taste is smooth with a balanced hop flavor of toasted caramel and an undetectable spice.. great balance between the hops and the finish has an inviting punch but nothing overpowering.. good brew.. DTM (541), Winters, California, USA Nov 11, 2007 Pours a deep amber color with a moderate head. Very well balanced taste between sweet and bitter. A hint of carmel and cinnamon can be tasted, but are not overpowering. Very impressed, would buy again.
