Bottle. Amazingly its taken me 9 years to try my second beer from this brewery. The wait wasn’t really worth it as this turned out to be slightly spicy but lacking any other flavour. It didn’t have any impact on me at all.

Lite tunn bland tyngre juldrycker (ängöl kalla tider remains king)Fräsch känsla men dör snabbt i glaset. Svag skumkron. OK lacing pga maniskt tvättat glas. Dricka igen ? Definitivt! Gärna i ett mass i april.

Ah Boston. Where the beer flows like wine. Where the just ok beer pours from the faucets and drinking fountains and where utopias can actually be found... As beautiful in intention as it is in color, nutmeg or maybe gingerbread so deep in its core you almost have to deliberately taste for it, I can almost kind of taste sugar plums but I don’t know what those are so I make no promises. Suffice it to say, if a beer says it’s a holiday it is, and of Boston beer company makes a beer it will be drinkable enough to enjoy. I only wish I had enough room to eat some of these French fries.....

Bold and rich, with a touch of holiday spice. The first thing one notices about a Samuel Adams® Winter Lager is the deep ruby color. Then comes the magical aroma which promises something special on the tongue. The cinnamon, ginger, and hint of citrus from the orange peel blend with the roasty sweetness of the malts to deliver a warming, spicy flavor. On the palate Samuel Adams Winter Lager is rich and full bodied, robust and warming, a wonderful way to enjoy the cold evenings that come with the season.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Translucent crimson brown, with medium head retention. Splendidly pungent aroma consisting of caramel, malt, nuts and cinnamon. Stays true to its label as a lager given its thin and relatively light body, although slightly creamy. Exceptionally smooth combination of flavours that directly emulates what’s present in the aroma, with some extremely minor hops during the finish. Very nice.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
355ml bottle from Appellation Wines.
Appearance - didn’t expect it to be a deep copper colour. Nice fluffy head.
Nose - light biscuit malts and spice.
Taste - fruitcake, with dried oranges.
Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a balanced dry finish.
Overall - what a lovely little beer.

2.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Samuel Adams Winter Lager Seasonal is a bit too thin for my liking. As winter lagers go, this beer has a deep nutty brown color with a slight spiced aroma. I wish that this beer had a deeper aroma. From a taste perspective, this beer is simply boring. The spicy aroma doesn't transfer into the taste.
On second taste of this beer, it is a tad bit better than my original evaluation depicts. In my opinion, it is better served a little bit warmer than straight from the fridge. As this beer warms up, the orange and spices come out in richer flavors!

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Beautiful dark amber color--almost copper in color. Looks more carbonated in glass than on the tongue. Pretty bright on the front of the palate. Bitter taste as it enters back of mouth, slightly citrusy, but not enough to cut the bitterness. Leaves a bitter aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours a brown tinged red colour with nice aroma of malts, some yeastiness? Spices coming through on the aftertaste. Enjoyable enough.
