Its aroma is minimal but more malt than anything else. Taste is sweet with some spice and fruit flavor." Jblauvs (542), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

Dark amber pour with offwhite head. Aroma is a bit of caramel spicy sweetness with some nut. Flavor is basically spicey boston lager. Ok yemenmocha (354), Glendale, Arizona, USA

Nose is caramel sweet, with a suggestion of black tea aromas.
Palate is caramelly sweet but not heavily sweet, and light in flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg, and overall malty sweetness.
This is a very light version of a winter beer, as far as winter beers go, normally. However, I think this wheat lager was clearly intended to be this way. Easy drinking.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 13, 2009 A little wheat and maybe chocolate, nice ginger and spice aroma that shows up in the flavor as well. A good reason to look forward to the cold season. drowland (1380), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 26, 2009 12oz bottle. It’s not the best thing in the world, but compared to some of the other SA stuff, I’m stoked for this to come out in the winter. Sonicdescent (376), Donora, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Aug 23, 2009 pours a dark but transparent brown with a rapidly disappearing head. No lacing to speak of. Nothing special here.
S=very light sweet smell, otherwise nothing.
T=trademark Sam Adams taste. Little more going on here than the Boston Lager, and that is not necessarily a bad
Thing.
M=thin and maybe a little too much carbonation. KyotoLefty (1392), Kyoto, Japan
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 13, 2009 Bottle. Good percentage of wheat malt. I would guess less than half, though. The wheat is much less noticeable than in a regular dunkel weizen, but it is definitely there, and adds a very nice touch. Very malty, slightly chocolately. Nice balance and rich, smooth palate. Not extremely exciting, but a very nice beer. Not as nice when I had it on tap.
