Bold and rich, with a touch of holiday spice. The first thing one notices about a Samuel Adams® Winter Lager is the deep ruby color. Then comes the magical aroma which promises something special on the tongue. The cinnamon, ginger, and hint of citrus from the orange peel blend with the roasty sweetness of the malts to deliver a warming, spicy flavor. On the palate Samuel Adams Winter Lager is rich and full bodied, robust and warming, a wonderful way to enjoy the cold evenings that come with the season.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2015 12 oz. bottle from Trader Joe’s. Nose of bready caramel and yeast. Rich copper color supporting a foamy head that settles into a thick skin. Flavor is caramel and molasses on a bready malt base up front with a bit of cinnamon and spice toward the finish. Nice balance. Little bitterness. Lively carbonation. Flavorful w/o being too rich. Very satisfying winter seasonal.

A solid welcoming and approachable winter beer. Rich ruddy brown color. Sweet and lightly spiced aroma and flavor. This may not be a super rare or experimental beer but it is good and well done and can be enjoyed by the whole family, craft lovers or not, which during this season is important. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Just tried this the other day at Red Lobster to change things up. I was pleasantly surprised. It had a nice medium reddish caramel color. It was fairly smooth and citrus flavored with some additional holiday spices. It kind of reminded me of Yeungling Lager but more flavorful. Leaves a good aftertaste in your mouth without any harshness. I liked it and look forward to having it again sometime.

A delicious seasonal brew, so much better than the standard Sam Adams lager. The spices and hint of cinnamon are really nice, and complement a good burger pretty well. Overall, an enjoyable beer that stands well on its own. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Highly refreshing brew with some mild (and ever so slightly artificial tasting) citrus and winter spices. Tart finish does not add points, but this is not a bad go to beverage for the holiday season.

Pours a clear reddish brown with minimal head a little or no lacing. Cinnamon, ginger and orange spice tones. A pretty good beer for the season. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle pour to pint glass. Aroma is cinnamon and malts with notes of pumpkin, All following to taste. No hops taste is a huge plus for me. Enthusiastically approved. A. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
