fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA Nov 2, 2007 Bottle Pours a clear amber with a two finger lasting light tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of spice, malt, wheat, and light caramel. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium slightly thin body with a mild amount of bitterness and light spicy finish. A good sesion beer for the Winter. Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Nov 1, 2007 Pours a clear reddish orange-brown with a large, dense, frothy, beige head that diminishes slowly. On the nose are notes of copper, toasty malt and a light simple syrup, along with an oddly astringent note in the background. On the light side of medium-bodied, the palate is soft and slick with a quick finish that just whispers at the presence of hops. A nice, round, lightly spicy malty front with a touch of earthy hops on the finish. This one is definitely all about the malt. A tasty, malty seasonal. puggy211 (576), cordova, Tennessee, USA Nov 1, 2007 pours dark copper with fluffy off white head, matly spicy nose.malty spicy taste slight bitter fininsh nice beer. emobassfoo (178), Webster, New York, USA Oct 31, 2007 Rated while drinking: Pours a darker-hued pumpkin color with a fluffy white head. Light spicy wheat aroma with almost a cereal grain note. Not too aromatic. Taste is an interesting balance of malts and wheat, that kind of collide with a zip of spice that tapers off. The initial and end flavor are both prominent, but the middle almost glides right over. Tingly on the nose and in the mouth, this is very very easy to drink. It was good, but I’ll have to try the other SA winter offerings. dkachur (2319), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Oct 30, 2007 Updated: Jun 12, 2008Bottle. Pours copper with small head. Light lacing. Caramel aroma with a bit of spice. Wheat really comes through in the taste. Could maybe use a bit more bitterness. WickerBrew (312), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 30, 2007 Had this on tap the other night, its pretty early in the year for winter seasonals but it was the best draft option available. I am a fan a of the style so it scores well based on that, but its not exactly the best out there. Very safe choice, cinnamon spice sweetness. Makes me smile, very smooth. hombrepalo (748), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 29, 2007 12 oz bottle. Poured a dark amber color, light head and clear. Not much aroma. Malty and spices. Good tasting beer, not the best of Sams. dancatts (91), Pennsylvania, USA Oct 29, 2007 Had a nice amount of flavor of dark wheat with a nice finish. Didn’t notice too much aroma other than malt. Average seasonal.
