| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 16, 2009 Color is Dark brown with an amber tint. Nice foamy white head with a dark hue.
Smell, of cinnamon, nutmeg, hint hops in the background
Taste is sweet at first, cinnamon, a slight hoppieness and is balance by a malt bitterness stronger than a Sam Adams Boston Lager.
Has a good drinkability. Goes down good very slight after taste.
Overall a good beer for those cold nights in Winter. The heavy like all good winter beers. Worth a try.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 11, 2009 Butterscotch malt aroma; very sweet like a caramel candy.
Reddish, dark amber. One finger head that dies quickly to a dusting of minute bubbles on the surface
Rich and very malty with a cognac sweetness; dark crystal malts and a touch of chocolate malt? As with other dark, rich, malty beers, the taste has nuttiness to it that reminds me of macadamias. The hop is pleasantly subtle but present, particularly in the aftertaste where the malt sugars could (but didn’t) overwhelm.
A brandy beer to be used with good friends in deep conversation. 184601 (144), Mexicali, Mexico
