3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma: wonderful warm spice notes along with the aroma of a good lager
Appearance: Red tinged amber with the a head that we all love from Sam Adams that can float a bottle cap.
Taste: To put it simple if beer is bread this is a spice cake that is light on the spice. A touch sweeter than most beer with note of Cinnamon and orange.
Palate: Nice and drinkable moderate body more or less standard for a good brew
Overall: Nice, more or less a winterized version of their classic

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Beautiful ruby color. Small off white head. Immediate taste is complex; fruity, ginger, spices. Fades too quickly into a barley taste, short aftertaste with light bitterness. Overall a pleasant beer, tasty.

Malty, notes of spices, orange peel. Kinda watery, not overly complex on palate or nose. Ok winter beer.

Ok. Impossibly red pour with off white head. Aroma is too faint to rate high. Taste is a little malt and spice. Served very cold. I suspect a reason for that.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark amber with a light brown head. Aroma of malt, spice and vanilla. Malty sweet flavor with warm spice notes and lingering vanilla finish. Medium to full bodied. Well balanced. A nice but rather tame holiday beer.

Pours nicely, dark but not too thick with a good head. Slightly sweet and pleasant aroma. Good malt flavor with little bitterness. Carbonation is a little much. Overall very drinkable and a nice beer. For long this has been a favorite and I look forward to it every year.
