Bold and rich, with a touch of holiday spice. The first thing one notices about a Samuel Adams® Winter Lager is the deep ruby color. Then comes the magical aroma which promises something special on the tongue. The cinnamon, ginger, and hint of citrus from the orange peel blend with the roasty sweetness of the malts to deliver a warming, spicy flavor. On the palate Samuel Adams Winter Lager is rich and full bodied, robust and warming, a wonderful way to enjoy the cold evenings that come with the season.

Flaska från Systembolaget. uppfriskande, ovanligt smakrik för en samuel Adas lager. Lite smak av såväl citron som apelsin och en del sötma. inte så "julig" däremot.

Samuel Adams Winter Lager Seasonal is a bit too thin for my liking. As winter lagers go, this beer has a deep nutty brown color with a slight spiced aroma. I wish that this beer had a deeper aroma. From a taste perspective, this beer is simply boring. The spicy aroma doesn't transfer into the taste. On second taste of this beer, it is a tad bit better than my original evaluation depicts. In my opinion, it is better served a little bit warmer than straight from the fridge. As this beer warms up, the orange and spices come out in richer flavors!

Beautiful dark amber color--almost copper in color. Looks more carbonated in glass than on the tongue. Pretty bright on the front of the palate. Bitter taste as it enters back of mouth, slightly citrusy, but not enough to cut the bitterness. Leaves a bitter aftertaste.

Poured from bottle, light amber color with red highlights. Thick creamy head. Nose is very malty with hints of spices. Taste is crisp and smooth with hint of bitter orange peel and cinnamon in the finish.

Bottle. Pours a brown tinged red colour with nice aroma of malts, some yeastiness? Spices coming through on the aftertaste. Enjoyable enough.

Pours clear chestnut brown with a thin beige head, moderate retention, very fine lacing. Aromas of toffee, toast, grass, nuts, orange. Light body, smooth, velvety. Mildly sweet, light bitter finish. Well balanced and very drinkable. Very little in the way of spice.

UPDATED: DEC 14, 2014 12 oz. bottle from Trader Joe’s. Nose of bready caramel and yeast. Rich copper color supporting a foamy head that settles into a thick skin. Flavor is rich, bready malt up front with a bit of cinnamon and spices toward the finish. Little bitterness. Lively carbonation. Excellent balance. Very satisfying winter seasonal.

A solid welcoming and approachable winter beer. Rich ruddy brown color. Sweet and lightly spiced aroma and flavor. This may not be a super rare or experimental beer but it is good and well done and can be enjoyed by the whole family, craft lovers or not, which during this season is important. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Just tried this the other day at Red Lobster to change things up. I was pleasantly surprised. It had a nice medium reddish caramel color. It was fairly smooth and citrus flavored with some additional holiday spices. It kind of reminded me of Yeungling Lager but more flavorful. Leaves a good aftertaste in your mouth without any harshness. I liked it and look forward to having it again sometime.

A delicious seasonal brew, so much better than the standard Sam Adams lager. The spices and hint of cinnamon are really nice, and complement a good burger pretty well. Overall, an enjoyable beer that stands well on its own. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
