Coppery red pour with a ton of uber thick head. The head looks like sponge toffee. Clivy spicy scent. Sweet. Very sweet. A bit sticky. Low carbonation it must have all come out in the head. Not really enjoying this. Regret buying a pitcher.

This is a good winter, nice use of spice. Now for something great, at Outback (where I'm drinking this) order the cheese fries "layered." Ranked as "America's Worst Food", this makes it even more unhealthy, but the server always looks at you impressed and mutters, "Nice."

Best by: Apr, 2012
A: orange brown with a transient finger of light tan foam which falls to a central cap and no lace. Excellent clarity.
S: Cinnamon, sweet malts....orange zest? Some decent dry tones of toast.
T: Sweet and cloying. Too sweet. Some more orange zest tones. Almost wish this was dry and with saison yeast. Finish has a hint of metal.
M: Thin with lower carb and a wet finish.
O: Well, not the worst winter I’ve had, but not the best either. I will likely not revisit.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Dark amber, clear. Woody bark, some herbs, light chocolate in the aroma. Not in any way porter/stout- like chocolate or darkness, but still a bit of caramel roastedness. Medium bodied, caramels, herbs. Something a bit special in there. Couldn’t pick up the specific spices that well, but overall a slight gruut- like atmosphere. Ok beer, drinkable, clean flavours, easy.

Meh. Its drinkable with some nice spices and some citrus. It just is too watery for my taste.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Small head with fair lacing. Colour is a non-distinct amber/red. Aroma is primarily vanilla, maybe ginger, really mild spice. feel is much lighter than I expected. Flavour is OK, just not very distinct from other, better beers in this style. Merry Christmas!

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
The pour produces a clear, dark amber body that holds up a large off-white head.
Aroma has toast spice and caramel.
The flavor is lightly sweet with hints of allspice, nutmeg and cinnamon.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: DEC 16, 2013 Much more flavorful than the usual lager. Smooth lager with lots of spice, malts, caramel. I?ve had it a few years in a row from the variety pack. Last year?s seemed a lot maltier; this one seems better.

Much heartier than a normal Sam Adams. Fairly tame though. The spices aren't overpowering which is nice.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours clear red/orange with a giant light orange head on top. Intense fresh bread aroma joined by a bit of spice. Very sweet, just a bit too much I’d say. The spice bill is dominated by cinnamon, but citrus notes also detectable. Noticeable alcohol profile provides some warmth on the tongue, but seems to be unpleasantly carbonated. Decent beer included in the winter 2013 mix pack, but I wouldn’t buy a sixer of it.

Not good at all...but not bad. Entirely average. Just barely there. Caramelly, watery, malty beer.
