Bold and rich, with a touch of holiday spice. The first thing one notices about a Samuel Adams® Winter Lager is the deep ruby color. Then comes the magical aroma which promises something special on the tongue. The cinnamon, ginger, and hint of citrus from the orange peel blend with the roasty sweetness of the malts to deliver a warming, spicy flavor. On the palate Samuel Adams Winter Lager is rich and full bodied, robust and warming, a wonderful way to enjoy the cold evenings that come with the season.

Smooth balance between full body and light seasonal flavors, nice dark amber without being too dark or thick, this is one you can drink a lot of in one sitting

I’ve finally found my goto beer for the holiday season. This is probably the 10th limited edition holiday brew I’ve tried and I don’t need to look any further. A robust brew with a non overpowering hint of spice and an extremely crisp finish. Cheers!

Almost a nutmeg spicy, malty aroma with a bit of lagerish funk. Taste is malty with a nutmeg spice finish. Full flavored descent Sam Adams beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle in pint glass from Hannaford, Raymond NH. Aroma is weak but what there is is yeasty--a bit of a cross between dough, beer that sat out overnight, and bile. Appearance is really beautiful clear ruby red with nice sparkle, 1/2 finger width foamy white head with trace lacing. Taste is also pretty weak--vague spiciness in first half progressing to mild sweet maltiness in the middle with hint of spices--cinnamon and citrus at the end. Palate is medium bodied with average texture and slightly more lively than average carbonation. Overall, this has a great look and everything else is pretty pedestrian. The aroma is actually a little bit of a turnoff but otherwise there just isn’t very much here to recommend or be disappointed by. This is eminently forgettable and, other than the other one that came in the variety pack, there is no reason I would seek this out versus numerous other options.

Bottle. Deep brown , mostly clear. Clean, slightly roasty aroma. Good. Malty with a decent ammount of roastiness and some hops.

Draft. Clear red in color poured with no head. Some caramel in the aroma. The flavor included cinnamon and ginger but could not pull out the citrus described in the commercial deScription. Overall, it an enjoyable easy drinking beer.
