Bold and rich, with a touch of holiday spice. The first thing one notices about a Samuel Adams® Winter Lager is the deep ruby color. Then comes the magical aroma which promises something special on the tongue. The cinnamon, ginger, and hint of citrus from the orange peel blend with the roasty sweetness of the malts to deliver a warming, spicy flavor. On the palate Samuel Adams Winter Lager is rich and full bodied, robust and warming, a wonderful way to enjoy the cold evenings that come with the season.

Bottle. A- Bland, spices. A- Dark copper color, clear liquid, white head. T- Cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, spices. P- Light body, thin texture, flat carbonation, abrupt finish. O- The cinnamon tones are very pronounced. It starts off nice but develops and odd taste the warmer it gets. The head of this beer was my favorite part. The spices were great in it.

Draft pour. Pours a dark amber color with a wet, malty aroma. Pretty good, easy drinking beer here, that is definitely a winter beer. Bold flavors all throughout with mild spices and toasty flavor. Medium body with a somewhat empty finish. I’m not put off by this I any way. Pretty good beer.

For me did not hit any of the flavor notes it claims to have. Did not get any of the spices or orange. Still a decent beer for winter. But not as described. Wouldn't buy it again.

Drank from a pint glass poured from a twelve ounce bottle. A nice, wonderfully , dark, brown brew. A good flavored beer, nice toasted flavors.

Pours medium amber with a short off-white head diminishing rapidly to nothing, no lacing. (3/5) Nose is muted, wheat, cinnamon, faith orange peel. (6/10) Taste is moderate sweet, moderate bitter, very mild sour. (6/10) Medium body, moderate carbonation, quick if not abrupt finish. (3/5) Not a terrible mass-market winter lager, but not great either. There’s a very little warming going on, and the spices are kind of stale and wilted. It’s better than a standard adjunct lager, but it’s a long shot from the best Sam Adams I’ve ever had. (12/20)

Decent lager with heavy mouth feel and hippy taste. Subtle spice notes and a smooth mouth feel.

35,5cl bottle from Systembolaget, Strömstad. Pours clear dark amber with an off-white head. Farily malty aroma with some lightly spicy and roasty notes. Medium sweet with mild spicy flavours, and a light bitterness. A bit to much on the sweet side for my taste, nothing special going on either. Quite okay, but not a preferred winter beer for me.

Always been a fan of this easy drinking winter lager. First one I’ve had this season on tap at Maynard’s.

Clear brownish color with a nice head. Sweet, malty light vanilla and spices aroma. Malt, light sweetness and spices with a little bitterness. Good beer

Going back through my notes and I have drank this for the past 3 Veteran’s Days in a row, twice at Applebee’s (free dinner). Anyway, this is a pretty good choice, for Applebee’s. Overall a decent beer, decent body and flavor. Nothing spectacular.

A nice lightly spiced dark lager with a creamy white head with an odd almost blue tinge over the deep brown lager. Drinkable, but with a lackluster, thin mouthfeel.
