I love the Sam Adams Seasonals. Every year it’s a milestone to see the White Ale, Summer Ale, Oktoberfest, and Winter Lager come out. This one is my favorite of all of them - rich malty aroma, nice copper brown color and tan head. Taste has some nice light spices on top of the rich caramel malt flavor.

Bottle: Retained it’s head pretty well, not watery like old fizzywig. Malty with notes of ginger or is it mint? Interesting but not spectacular. 3.3 Rerate Nov 2004: On tap very malty almost to the point of being syrupy. Maple notes and no hint of ginger this time.Tasted like an old ale.

Dark amber in color. All sorts of spices in the air, combined with malts. Very malty and spicy beer. Good beer to drink through-out winter.

Very smooth. Almost warm feeling. Great at the ski bar. Looks even better in the glass.

very dark amber color with a good head. very malty tasting and just the right amount of hops. spiced slightly but not overdone. i think this is adams best beer to date and wish they would make it year-round! not easy to find in my area but worth the hunt. this is a very good beer.

served on tap at local establishment in 16 ounce tankard (though the waiter did call it an ale) beautiful dark color with great head served extra cold went well with my steak but would also compliment other red meats as well as chicken or pork will try again

A beer with a frothy but diminishing head. It had a nice brown color. The taste was smooth and not bitter.
