COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bold and rich, with a touch of holiday spice. The first thing one notices about a Samuel Adams® Winter Lager is the deep ruby color. Then comes the magical aroma which promises something special on the tongue. The cinnamon, ginger, and hint of citrus from the orange peel blend with the roasty sweetness of the malts to deliver a warming, spicy flavor. On the palate Samuel Adams Winter Lager is rich and full bodied, robust and warming, a wonderful way to enjoy the cold evenings that come with the season.

Going back through my notes and I have drank this for the past 3 Veteran’s Days in a row, twice at Applebee’s (free dinner). Anyway, this is a pretty good choice, for Applebee’s. Overall a decent beer, decent body and flavor. Nothing spectacular.

A nice lightly spiced dark lager with a creamy white head with an odd almost blue tinge over the deep brown lager. Drinkable, but with a lackluster, thin mouthfeel.

Bottle poured. Dark amber color with tan head. Crisp caramel and nutty aroma. Medium body with very light carbonation. Surprisingly sweet with the hint of a bitter finish.

Bottle pour. Clear amber with foamy tan head. Malty aroma with light ginger. Light to medium body. Taste is floral, orange peel, and ginger. Very sweet and interesting (not in a great way) taste.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Pours mahogany color with small brownish lacing head. Notes of caramel, wood, herbs. Kind of one dimensional. Easy drinkable tho.

UPDATED: NOV 15, 2014 Tap at New Bohemia. Smallish pint. Amber hue with some lacing. Aroma has roasted malt characteristics. Taste has malt notes and minimal, but steady hops. A little too similar to the Boston lager. Some caramel. Not one of the good winter beer options.

Samuel Adams Winter Lager is not bad but nothing exceptional. Nice deep reddish color with a foamy white head. Aroma is malty but not very complex. Taste is also malty and a tad sweet. I didn’t get any of the spicy notes in the description -- just a deep maltiness. You will see Winter Lager around in the restaurants a lot this season, so it is nothing to necessarily seek out.

Bottle. Overall nice, not the least the colour. Well-balanced, interesting spices but not too prominent. Gentle finish.

Pours a reddish brown with pillowy off white head that lasts and laces. Smells of caramel, cinnamon, and toasted malt. Very smooth with mild lingering hop bitterness. Light to medium bodied. Tastes of biscuit, sugar, caramel, and cinnamon.

Draft. Reddish amber color with minimal off-white head and minimal lacing. Malt and spice aroma. Malt and spice upfront. Sweet malt finish with slight bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
