A yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malty with slight notes of caramel and hops. The flavor is sweet malty with a crisp hoppiness. Nothing special, but very easily drinkable.

Draught@Princess Louise, Holborn, London. Pale golden color, small white head. Mild grassy hoppy, cardboard malty nose. Buttery, mildly hoppy German-type pils. Some hops linger in the aftertaste after buttery malty start.

Keg at The Cardinal, Westminster. A big pint of nothingness except a slight acidity coming from the carbonated fizz. Entirely bereft of aroma or flavour, its difficult to imagine a blander beer. The upside of that is that there is no adjuncty element to the aroma, or off flavours. To the extent that its not downright offensive, it must score higher than the same brewery’s Sovereign Bitter. I can’t imagine I’ll ever drink this again.

A Mes rate: Tap at the Princess Louise.
Pale gold with a thin white head. Very metallic, slight hops, papery and a nasty finish. Bland and crap.
