2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Half-pint (Keg) in the Cittie of Yorke, Holborn on 12th Sep 2014. Usual lager/pilsner look: golden, clear and clean with a white head that did not hang around. Sweeter than Sam Smiths other lager offerings and a bit ’grainy’. OK but not enough hop content for my idea of a good Pale Lager.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Keg from a SS somewhere in Soho, fills a good gap for them now Alpine is only 2.8%. Not complex in the least but one of the cleanest tasting lagers I’ve ever had, very nicely balanced and the sort of refreshing, easy-drinking beer that you could quaff all day. Like.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
13th March 2014
Anchor Tap Sam Smiths, Tower Bridge. Keg. Clear paleish gold beer, small white head. Palate is smooth and semi dry with good fine carbonation. Very light pale malt. Mild carbonated bite. Very light touch of citrus. Finishes light. Fresh and refreshing with bready burps (thanks to DruncanVeasey for the notion of rating burps). The old lager swigger in me enjoyed this one.
