UPDATED: JUN 4, 2014 Opaque, black beer, with a thick, creamy head. Thick and full-bodied, but a little grainy. Roast malts, with lots of coffee and chocolate, maybe some raisin, complemented by an earthy bitterness. Very nice.

Not a stout drinker normally but this was lovely, with distinct overtones of chocolate.

Pints of in various Samuel Smith's establishments around Central London, apart from being often served Guinness stylee (ie too bloody cold...) I find this to be a wonderful nitro style stout. there is a good base of roast (almost burnt) and layers of liquorice and coffee. I love this beer and recommend it to anyone who isn't already bored of my Beer talk. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
