3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Gardiner & Haskins, Bristol. Pale amber with a slight white head and moderate carbonation. Light arma of apricot, peach juice and a hint of lemon zest, with a trace of rustic yeast. Flavour had some sweetish fruit juice to start, before some more substantial malts, and then a dryish finish which left some tannins in the mouth. Avoided being syrupy, which is commendable. Good.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Instant "wow" upon first sniff and then a bigger "WOW" upon first sip. This is like drinking fresh, crisp, sweet apricots perfectly in season. Reminiscent of an English Perry with more freshness, sweetness and bite. The color is apricot in hue (obviously right?), the liquid flows nicely into the Spigelau austrian crystal beer snifter I used to serve this gem of a brew. If you are into fruit brews, lambics, ciders or just want to try something new and delicious, Sam Smith is your boy. Not overly sweet or overly fruity...great Sunday sipper.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Whole Foods Kensington, London. Colour is almost clear golden amber, thin head head. Nose is very fragrant apricot, but thereís also some mango, like a mango lasso drink. Some lactic. Itís very sweet fresh apricots. Taste is sweet sugary apricot, almost like a fruit drink, but nicely balanced is a light to medium beer backbone and some light tartness to temper the sweetness. Crisp lagerish backbone.
