3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 ianwelby (202) - SCOTLAND - MAY 18, 2013
Nearly-clear, orange beer which is quite lively. Aroma is strong apricot. Taste is a sharp, slightly sour apricot flavour and something else (almost a toasted malt undercurrent but I’m not sure if that’s what it is) with the almost pickle-y apricot flavour being what lingers. Very crisp and refreshing.

Pours a hazy orange with a 1 finger, creamy eggshell head that has great retention and leaves nice lacing. Aroma is heavy on the apricot, some toast and tree fruit. Flavor is pretty heavy with apricot, some tart apple, toast, floury wheat, a nice, tart apricot note toward the finish along with lingering toast and light citrus notes. Excellently creamy mouthfeel, with a fittingly sharp, but fairly light carbonation and nice, fruity acidity, neutral to dry, but juicy finish. Really nice palate. Overall surprisingly good beer. I honestly wasn’t expectiong much, since I am not a huge fan of apricots, but I was very pleasantly surprised.

Good bottle, standard Sam Smith throwback label; foggy gold. Pleasantly sour, pickled apricot aroma. Sweet and tart, you can almost feel the fuzzy apricot skin on your tongue, lightly bitter. Medium body, medium tangy finish. Thanks, LuckyDog.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 keanex (785) - Atco, New Jersey, USA - MAY 5, 2013
Neck is stamped SJ18L1.
Appearance: The body is a cloudy amber to dark orange with a frothy white head that has decent retention and settles into a thick coating on the top of the body.
Aroma: The aroma is lively, lots of apricot aroma ranging from tart to sweet, perhaps even a touch acetic. This smells wonderful.
Taste: This is lovely. The intro is sweet and fruit with the apricot which provides the main flavor here. The finish has a light tartness to it, with very mild vinegar notes.
Palate: Medium bodied with medium to high carbonation.
Overall: This is the apricot version of Duchess de Bourgonge. I greatly enjoy this, it’s a pleasant surprise!

Bottle at Brighton Travelodge from Trafalgar wines slightly hazy mid amber with rich apricot, slightly earthy nose. Sweet apricot, slightly tart, medium carbonation, long tart apricot finish. Is what it says it is but a bit too ott for me.

22 oz bottle from Bert’s Better Beers, Hooksett, NH. Nose is really all apricot. Flavor is pretty sweet. Highly carbonated fruit juice. You almost wouldn’t know it was beer. Mostly fizzy carbonated fruit juice.

The aroma is pretty much what you’d expect, plenty of fresh apricot. The flavor is extremely well balanced with apricot, carmel, smooth bitterness and a touch of noble hop flavor. Finishes a little sweet and tangy.

Bottle courtesy of Ken during some Settlers of Catan. Pours a beautiful deep peach nectar juice body with thin white bubbly lacing. Aroma is apricot and sugar. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of peach, apricot, fruit juice, sugar and light tin. If the light tin flavor was diminished a bit this would be incredible, but still serves as a sessionable fruit ale.
