Bottle sampled at the gruesome UFC title match. Aroma of soggy pickled red cherries. Kind of reminded me of old canned cherries that look more grey than red. Pours dull purple with an ugly murkiness and patchy head. Taste is soggy cherries and slight bubblegum. Not a big fan of this one. It is redeemed only in not tasting like fake maraschino like some krieks.

Brownish-Red with foamy pink head. Big cherry aroma. Taste- sour cherry and more sour cherry. Hard to detect anything else. The flavor is really nice but this is a dessert ale and nothing more. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: FEB 10, 2014 Aroma is of sweet cherries, not artificial at all like the other reviewers are noting. Tons going on with this beer, lots of cherry flavor but not overpowering. Also has a really well crafted ale taste to balance out the cherries with notes of barely and yeast. A great drink.

Aroma: Pretty much straight up cherry; I didn’t feel it was artificial (as other reviewers noted) but manifested a nice perfume. There’s maybe a bit of fresh mint in there. Otherwise, it’s a little biscuity in the sense of cherry pie crust, which probably makes no sense to anyone but me. Appearance: The body is hazy and reddish with a foamy off-white head that settles into a coating on the glass. Flavor: 80+ percent cherry, without a doubt; it’s a really clean tasting beer that is not overly sweet. Letting it sit on the tongue a bit longer brings out some mint and just a bit of pie crust. Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, flat carbonation, long finish. Overall: I thought this was very pleasing overall, but not in the top tier of fruit beers. I’d purchase it again if I was in the mood for a cherry flavoured ale.

Bottle. Thin loose pink head without much retention. Nose is Maraschino cherries. Oak. Sweet, tangy and sour, with some bitterness. Sweet finish.

Bottle at home. Hazy pink pour. Aroma of cherries, slightly metallic and grainy. Flavor is sweet, fruity and sugary with loads of artificial cherries. Quite long lingering sweetness. Not too appealing.

Quite a bit of dotty lacing. Cherry color, as expected, with pink head. Aroma of cherry and quite a bit of sourness. Flavor is NOT sour, however - light, easy drinking cherry here. Very refreshing.

OK folks lets take this for what it is. When you looked at the bottle and saw ale brewed with cherry juice. Did you think you would get a thick full bodied beer that tasted like an IPA or a Porter? It is what it is and for a nice fruity drink this one is just fine. Very smooth slightly creamy cherry drink that could very easily be sold as a soda. the bottle is very attractive and I have never had a Sam Smith that did not taste good. Sam makes one hell of a beer and pretty much tells you what is in it. So for all you low scorers, why dont you stick to the beer you like. Score a beer for what it is and not what you like. You bunch of biased beer drinkers need to wake up and be open minded. This was not my favorite type of beer but for a cherry beer it is very good and probably the best I have ever had. Much better than Kasteel. Hell I dont even need a piece of Big Red after this one. "Just Drinking a CHeerwine Boss, Just a CHeerwine." For those of you who dont know cheerwine is a soft drink bottled in Salisbury, NC. Have a good beer dri nking day.
