Pitch black with light brown color. The smell is insanely sweet and a bit roasty. The taste is a tiny bit watery but quite sweet. Still, this is a creamy, but well carbonated stout. Sweet aftertaste with light licorice and roast notes.

Bottle. Pours medium brownish creamy-frothy head, not very lasting. Dark mahogany colour with dark caramel hues. Aroma is complex with prune, toasted malt, caramel and some slight bitterness. Taste is similar, adding an acidic start, dry cocoa, black coffe and liquorize sweetness. A very flavourful and balanced imperial stout without ashes notes.

18.7 ounce bottle, consumed on 2-5-15. Pours a dark brown with a small amount of bubbly, taupe/tan head. Nice shade of head. Chocolate milk, cocoa, and carob scents. English yeast smell. Roasted malt and burnt toast flavors. Lively and crisp in the palate. Medium body. This is a nice beer, but it’s not as good as I remember it being from drinking it years in the past. This is not at all what would be considered an imperial stout if it were first brewed today.

Butelka, piwo czarne nieprzejrzyste z szybko opadającą beżową pianą. W aromacie i smaku czekolada, suszone owoce m.in. śliwki, nuty likieru kawowego. Pojawia się lekka kwaskowość. Wyczuwalny alkohol. Niska goryczka.

Bottle 355ml, dark black with beige head, very fast falling. After 5 minutes not even a lancing is visible. Aromas aren’t very intensive and get stronger when the beer gets warmer. Imediatly after opening olives are noticable, later the aroma gets sweeter and richer with notes of cocoa, vanilla and red fruits. Nice balanced taste with medium sweetness and flavour of vanilla beans and chocolate, medium bitterness and light sourness. Dry and bitter finish. Not an outstanding RIS but a quite pleasant one.
