The standard bearer for the style. Black pour, large rocky head. Dark chocolate, coffee, wood, english hops, molasses, very light anise notes in arona and taste. Fuller body with a creamy mouthfeel.

Pours thick, foam caramel color with cherry aromas. Head diminishes but always a little present with beautiful rings across the glass. Taste of coffee, chocolate, very well balanced, but at 7% the alcohol is not up front at the tongue. Have just adjusted the score, this is s great beer once it reaches temperature.

355ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours very dark brown with small toffee head. Fruity and malty aroma, particularly of plum. Flavour is bitter chocolate, dried fruit and a little hoppy. My first Imperial Stout, looking forward to more.

1pt 2.7oz bottle. Pours opaque deep brown, almost black, with minimal lingering tan head and some tan lacing. Aroma of plums, chocolate, toffee, mature apples or old pears. Taste of malts, slightly sweet, hints of bitterness. All flavors linger for a long, barely-changing finish. Easy to drink, refreshing, nothing too complex or exotic. Will buy again.

Well balanced beer. Nice aroma of chocolate, plums, caramel and typical flavours for a stout but also some fresh thing like after mowing. To much CO2 and too sweet for me. Still good beer.
