Finally getting around to this one! Bottle, black beer, big, bamboo wood colored head, decent lace. Aroma is metal, malt, hint of molasses and dark fruit. Taste is toast, coffee, caramel, salt, hint of smoke. Palate is a bit light for an imperial, but the carbonation is very fine, soft and nitro like. This is a nice change from north American style impies. Finish is balanced, not dry or sweet. Quite good.

0,355l bottle, Känguruh pub Vienna. Caramel, sweet, slightly alcoholic aroma. Black color with light brown 2 finger head. Roasted caffe, chocolate, caramel, fruity taste with a bitter not irritating ending.

0.355l bottle. Pitch black body, thin light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, cocoa, reisins, caramel and coffee. Taste of caramel, cocoa, chocolate, coffee, sour cherry, floral hops and a hint of booze. Sweeter and fruitier than the average imperial stout. Very nice.

Butelka w końcu daty do 04.2016 Czarne, na brzegach lekko prześwitujące, piana brązowa, drobna, zostaje obrączka. Aromat to czekolada, pralinki, i nuta szlachetnego alkoholu. Smak to gorzka czekolada, trochę kawy, raczej wytrawne z paloną nutą na finiszu. Średnie nasycenie.

Bottle at home. Aroma is roasted malt, liquorice, caramel, dark chocolate, espresso, touch of raisins. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Body is medium to full. Not the most full-flavoured Imperial Stout, but it has great drinkability and I can see why it’s a classic of the style.

Pours dark brown with medium beige head. Aroma is black currant juice, vanilla, red wine, chokeberry, some metal, sourness. Taste is currant juice, oily, coffee, roast, cream, some dark chocolate, alcohol. Quite weak taste for imperial stout and ABV is not hidden.

Bottle. Black beer, big brown head. Nose is mildly bready, vague chocolate and coffee, caramel, but again, vague and weak. Flavor is roast, some metallic hints, coffee, some warmth from the alcohol. Finish has some more roast and alcohol warmth, chocolate and caramel. The finish is the best thing about this beer, as are the chocolate retronasals. OK, the aftertaste with lingering hop-tinged chocolate is pretty nice too. Smells unremarkable, and the first two thirds of the taste are also unremarkable. An odd one, but not bad.

Bottle @ home, split two ways. Almost black pour with a light tan head. Loads of roast, bitter coffee, some dark chocolate and light licorice.

Nose is fruity and almost herbal. Taste slight sweet maltiness with toffee and touch of coffee. Thin on the palate and not very creamy. Good but no sensation.

From bottle courtesy of Johnny Horn. Pours opaque jet black with a lovely deep brown head. Aromas of espresso, dark chocolate, raisins, spiced rum. Boozey yet balanced on the palate, complex and very smooth.
