They say it’s complexity is due to malt, hops, alcohol, and yeast, but in reality, the only standout flavors I’m getting are of yeast. The aroma is incredibly estery -- dried fruits, burned fruits, clove, banana, etc. There’s some alcohol to it, too, but the roasted malt, which ought to be the backbone of this style, completely takes a backseat to the yeast. Flavor is the same thing. Fruit fruit fruit. Overall unimpressive, especially for the name the brewery has built for itself. Maybe I’m just continually failing to luck out and getting batches that have gone bad in transit, but I’ve consistently had trouble with SS beers. Not noteworthy.

Small 1cm head on a black body. Smell of nutty, roasted grains. Taste of bitter chocolate with a hint of coffee on the finish. well balanced on the palate, body on the thin side. No lasting taste beside a little dryness (imperial dry stout?) Grainy feeling

Opaque black with a low mocha coloured head which show decent retention but no lacing at all. Fine but not too intense aroma: moderate/delicate roasted malts, milk coffee, red fruits and a light alcohol note. Overall somewhere in the likes of a fruit cake. Taste follows the aroma with low bitterness if compared to the average imperial/export stout. Nice sweet/warming fruity/alcohol finish and aftertaste. Medium body, very low carbonation, nice silky, delicate mouthfeel. An enjoyable strong stout, well balanced and nicely complex, though not too intense

Aroma: roasted dark malts, dried fruits, burnt malt. Appearance: jet black and creamy head. Taste: roasted dark malts, bitter chocolate, coffee, slightly acid, dried fruits, dry. Palate: medium/low body and medium carbonation, roasted finish. Overall: Tastes like a FES, but still a really nice and complex beer. Maybe too dry.

Bottle. Dark brown, nearly black pour with a rich beige head. Aroma is malty chocolate, some subtle plum and raisin, hints of coffee and very slightly roasty. Taste is much the same, malty chocolate, dark fruits, a little sweet up front but finishes a little roasty with some bitterness to balance. Quite tasty and balanced, but not quite the rull richness of most imperial stouts. More like a really nice strong oatmeal stout.

Bottle 355ml. Deep black and a thin light brown head. Aroma is sweet with dates and plums. Smooth palate. Taste adds coffee and some burnt caramel with some molasses sweetness. Really good for an Imperial Stout with a reasonable abv.

Jet black body, capped with a thick mocha head. Aromas of coffee, dark chocolate, and brownies. Lighter mouthfeel than expected. I guess less creamy is the way to put it. Flavours are an extension of the aromas, but getting black liquorice as well. A very nice, very flavourful, very drinkable stout.
