Ungstrup (11031), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 27, 2002 A black beer with a beutiful head. It has an aroma of smoked malt. It has a very filling feel and a good taste of smoked malt. Definatly a beer I’ll have again. omhper (10393), Stockholm, Sweden Mar 6, 2002 Sample of the 1999 version in March 2002: Dark black with beige head. The banana aroma is somewhat diminished if comparing to fresh samples. Full bodied and malty. Licorice flavour. Bitter finish. I’m not sure it gains so much
on cellaring, so drink it when you can. Papsoe (9980), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 15, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) The blackest Stout in the world? Pitch black and completely opaque with a fine, creamy brown head. Incredibly potent and full-bodied yet very pleasant and drinkable. Light sweetness and only a vague bitterness - doesn’t have the ashy, dry bitterness often found in Stouts. Quite delicate. 230403 Oakes (6819), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Mar 2, 2004 Dark chestnut colour. Aroma has light chocolate, hints of grass, white sugar, and orange. Body is thick, especially for the size of beer, with chewy malts, lots of deep fruit (plums, peaches, raisins). Sweet, rich, fruity finish. Sheer quality. joergen (6240), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 18, 2005 Bottled. Dark brown coloured with a beige head.
Aroma of dark chocolate, liquorice, coffee and dried fruit.
Flavour of coffee and dark chocolate. Dry finish with notes of coffee.
