4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20
Aroma: Rich, dark chocolate and deep licorice undertones. Some coffee, a bit of caramel, and a mild black cherry aroma. Alcohol is also present. Not the most complex imperial stout, but one of the most alluring Iíve smelled.
Appearance: Velvety smooth and blacker than black coffee; very thick and opaque. Light brown sugar head with a texture like merengue. Gives the impression of a double chocolate cake.
Flavor: Heavy licorice taste, a touch of cola. Very flavorful but also quite smooth and subtle; not overwhelmingly or aggressively bitter like some imperial stouts. Excellent chocolate finish, a great brew to serve with dessert.
Palate: Very creamy and exceptionally smooth. Could be a bit more chewy, but overall, outstandingly pleasant on the palate.
Overall: Perhaps the most drinkable imperial stout Iíve had, well balanced and with an alcohol content of only 7%. Superb.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Jet back with a one finger mocha coloured head with strong lacing. Strong caramel, golden syrup, dark chocolate, a touch of roasted malts and some sweet lactose. Rich, dark chocolate flavours, subtle roast malts and spicy malts followed by some cherry, alcohol and sarsbarella. Thick mouth feel with just a slight spritz. Very complex, multi layered beer that is just a touch sweet for my tastes.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pitch black with a nice carbonation and a weak head.
The smell is dominated by pear. Find some subtle caramel in there and some chocolate and coffee, but with difficulty. Hints of vanilla too. Maybe some cinnamon.
Taste is burnt coffee caramel, nicely refreshing with a milky creaminess. Interesting beer, far from my regular Imperial stout experience.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A black beer with a medium and beige head. The nose has syrup malts, some roastiness, raisins and dried fruits, strongly sweet. Taste is rich of malts, roastiness, syrup and sweetness, some dried fruits. Medium bodied, low carbonation. Different IS, sweet and fruitfull, only slightly roasted, "old-fashioned".

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a dark brown with a small tan foam head. Aroma is roasted malts. Flavor is also roasted malts, along with sweet caramel and toffee. Quite light for an imperial stout, but has lots of flavor and tastes delicious.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
355ml bottle present. Almost black, reasonable head. Treacle grain malt aroma. Sour treacle grain flavour. Bitter aftertaste. Not my sort of beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Roasty, chocolaty aroma with a hint of dry fruits (plums and the likes), alcohol also easy to sense. Rich, tan coloured head, very good lacing, leaves a nice, thin layer. Liquid is black, not transparent, clear.
Medium sweetness, light bitterness, even more roast and chocolate after tasting it, leaves a very pleasurable aftertaste. Alcohol warms the oeasophagus and throat. Low carbonation. Long finish.
Overall, itís a good beer. Could have had a better aroma. It feels like a light version of imperial stout, especially looking at its abv.
