4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Brune-noire foncée, mousse marron claire persistante. Quelques dépôts.
Arômatique surtout sur le toastage café. Levures.
Carbonation moyenne.
Très bonne stout.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is downright heavenly with a smell of toasted malt and dark chocolate. Appearance is spot on with a deep dark brown black body with a creamy off white head that retains well. Taste is creamy smooth that tastes almost like it is nitrogenated instead of carbonated. I mostly get a strong taste of chocolate with a bitterness I associate with that rather than hops. It finishes up with an earthy toasted malt and almost burnt toast on the aftertaste. For being higher in alcohol it is well hidden with the rich flavor. One of the better imperials out there and so far my favorite for this category as it is not just trying to take an ok beer and pump up the alcohol.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
High rates was promising, let check this out, beer bought in centre of Warsaw, Poland. Aroma is very nice: dark chocolate, liquorice, bit of caramel, maybe raisins, slight or not at all coffee, something acidy in background. In glass it is jet black, when tilted on the edge brownish reflexes. Big head, but not so dense, diminishing in short period, at the beginning pretty nice lacing, in 20 mins head turns into thin circle. Taste - first impression, first surprise - green apple, in stout? This is not what I’d expect, google says that it means underfermentation (?), besides of that - nice dark chocolate, liquorice, in the back some roast, alcohol is obvious but in nice way. With every sips green apple taste diminishes, and liquorice strengthens. Despite of chocolate beer is sugary sweet as well. For me there is to much of co2 but some may like it. Bit dense, like a syrup but rather mid bodied, finish is long with majority of chocolate. This beer is undoubtedly complex, but effect would be much better without that apple. I rather won’t come back to this beer but I don’t regret anyway even due the price was quite O.K - 3 EUR.frothy, frothy,

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
"pretty thin compared to all the HUGE amaerican imperial stouts floating around these days, but that’s the only knock on this beer. The flavor and aroma are wonderful, and this one has a higher drinkability than some due to the lighter body. Still not a sissy beer, though. Sam Smith’s does dark beers well. 2011 - losing ground in the land of the impy stout. the last couple have been a touch boring. slight downgrade from over 3.9 to a 3.8."

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottle) Black with thin tan head. Pleasant aroma with raisins, liquorice, dark toffee. Full body with velvety smooth carbonation. Taste is dominated by dark roast / burnt sugar notes, balanced with some acidity. There are some raisin / port notes at the start, some dark toffee in the mid palate and some bitterness in the finish. Good, but some of the flavours for me are a bit harsh.

Bottle. Black with a large light brown head. Marmite, chocolate, molasses, esters, rye bread, dark fruits, rum soaked raisins, chocolate, over ripe bananas. Medium/full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, medium sweet, light/medium bitter. Good complexity but also really soft and somewhat yeasty.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours slow and has enormous head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Flavor doesn’t have the metallic taste or burn typical of an imperial stout. Really good.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
330ml bottle served in a chalice.
A: Pours a deep-brown-almost-black color forming a big creamy tan head. Good retention. The head never disappears completely but only few lacings are left in the glass
S: Sweet. Roasted malts, earthy yeasts, dark chocolate cookie. A bit of alcohol in the end
T: Roasted malts, brown bread, dark fruits. Sweet malts upfront. In overall, a dry body, but not extremely. End is bitter, smoky with a bit of alcohol
M: Medium creamy and molasses body. Medium carbonation. Sweet upfront and a mild roasted bitter aftertaste
O: High drinkability. Perfect English Stout. Absolutely recommended
