3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500 ml LCBO: amber with massive rocky head helped along by the etching in the bottom of the S.S. Namesake glass. Bright fruity, floral aromas of peach, hops, and some spice. Taste is malt, bread crust, grass, and apricot, with a slight sweetness. Medium body. Nice bitter finish. Very good stuff from the always reliable SS.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from a bottle. Pours a medium dark amber with a huge head of white foam and lots of lacing. Aroma is very faint with some light malts and biscuit. Taste is somewhat bitter, bland and dry. Not very refreshing or enjoyable. Leaves an unpleasant flavor on the palate.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A decent enough brew. 550ml bottle into a Smith’s nonic gives a bit of foam which settles down to a film. Aroma of malt and mild hops, apples. Coppery golden color, a good looking ale. Light carbonation, this is actually pretty hoppy for an English product, though not near a lot of American stuff. Solid, well rounded malt predominates, however. Bready, grassy, sweetly caramelized with a good body and mouthfeel, low ABV for the style as it is widely known here.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
355ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, pale orangey golden colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Minimally sweaty, fruity aroma has notes of mirabelle, peach and other yellow stone fruit. Taste is mellow malty, fruity hoppy overtones, hints mirabelle and peach again; sadly turns to dry, papery and slightly chalky in the finish.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear amber, offwhite froth. Light malt and hops aroma. Bitter, old hoppy flavour with light caramel malty background. Bottled a year and half ago but still well within BBD, this one might have lost some of its original flavour and aroma. Ok but boring.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma - nice bit of doughy bread, some toast, and faint floral hops.
Appearance - body is amber and clean, nice fluffy white head about 2". The head hangs out for a good long time. Some frothed lacing.
Taste - nice malt backbone, nice bread taste. Similar to a soft center of a toasted French loaf. The hops are floral and slightly spiced. Nice little backend zip.
Palate - body is medium, the texture somewhat silky, the carbonation average, the finish nicely toasted.
