Good bitter hops taste. One of the better IPA’s from the UK. bubbleflubber (903), Collinsville, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 22, 2006 Pours reddish amber into the glass with a medium retentive head and light sudsy lace. The nose is of sweet spices, honey, and rum butter. Rum butter flavors outside of a pale malt shell. The bitters lead nicely into the mouthfeel, and lend a slight crispness to the oily palate. The finish feels oily, yet somewhat dry-hopped. Interesting complexities at work here. I like this brew, and appreciate it for all of its intermingling contingencies. Good offering. andyhite (293), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 15, 2006 aroma of banana, bread. also strong hoppy aroma and taste, yet not offensive. i was expecting hoppier, but am pleasantly surprised. it looks like a nice draft beer, yet poured from a bottle. solid, consistent lacing like that of a southern, homemade afgan. the india ale also has a pleasant mouthfeel - silky and that of mild spice. it’s a wonderful beer. invalid (302), Columbus, Ohio, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 9, 2006 Aroma of hops, malts, flowers and apples. Nice foamy beige head. Hmmm, flavor of apple cider, and liquor. A bit of malts, but more of apples and hops. Overall a disappointment from SS’s. Thier porter and nut brown ale is very good. This is NOT my favorite. Sorry Brits, I raved about the other two SS’s, this one is lacking. Drinkable, but not exactly what I expect from an IPA. jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Nov 8, 2006 Pours golden orangy/copper with a small white head. Light hops, honey, and apple cider on the nose. Slight bitterness throughout, with a caramel/cidery malt background. Palate is crisp and refreshing, but thin and lacking on the finish. Overall, this is refreshing, but the flavors are subdued and just not that interesting. nijuro (63), USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 5, 2006 Honey and hops on the nose. A crisp clean pallate with caramel and citrus notes followed by a loooong hoppy finish. A very nice IPA, if a bit simple.
