"Samuel Smith's India Ale is characterized by the colour of a golden sunset, a refined maltiness and an emphasis on the aroma and flavour from Britain's best hop gardens."

A malty British India ale with golden brown appearance. Good taste but a little more malty than what I prefer. I never had this beer so I paid $7 for a 12 ounce bottle out at dinner. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

550 ml bottle. Aroma is malty, fruity (apples), characteristic of the brewery. Pours clear copper with a thick beige head with decent retention; leaves some lace. Taste is sweet and malty, finishing with a lightly bitter hop bite. Ok.

18.7 oz bottle- Pours a slightly hazy golden orange with a large white head that slowly reduces. Aroma is earthy, floral, minerals similar to all Sam Smith beers, some peppery spice. Taste is caramel malts, citrusy, minerals, lightly hopped. Carbonation is medium and body is medium. Better than i thought it would be, love their stouts and porters, but am pretty accustomed to American IPAís, this isnít as intense and in your face as those, but this isnít too bad.

550 ml bottle from Cost Plus. Aroma of biscuit malt with a bit of hops. Hop-forward in flavor, but of the tame citrus variety, with minimal bitterness on a malty, biscuity base. Moderate carbonation and full-bodied. Flavorful throughout with a touch of dryness at the finish. So drinkable. A good example that a solid IPA doesnít have to be over the top.

Not the greatest beer but still very drinkable. Especially when feeling nostalgic.

Poured from a bottle. 5 for appearance -- inviting dark golden clear color, creamy, long lasting 1-finger head, clingy lacing. Skunky aroma, but goes away on the taste. Nuts, pine, slightly sour finish.

12 oz bottle. It pours golden with a small white head. It has the aroma of hay and cereal. It has the flavors of honey, nuts, caramel, a floral taste with a subdued but pleasant hop bitterness. This is a very nice beer. Iíve enjoyed everything Iíve had from this brewery.

AdiBeer (1852) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 17, 2015
Aroma: bread, grain malts, light caramel, some straw. Appearance: clear amber, medium, frothy, white head. Taste: light bitter. Palate: grain malts continue, straw and hay again, remains lightly bitter, lively carbonation, slightly dry touch to the finish. Overall: OK ESB, yet falls short due to a lack of intensity and complexity. Bottle from Utobeer, London Bridge.

edsspoon (704) - Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - MAR 13, 2015
Bottle - amber with a big foamy light brown head. Aroma of caramel and light fruits. Taste of caramel, roasted malts, light grass and some bitterness. Medium body, low carbonation.
