Clearing golden yellow with white lasting foam head, lacing to glass. Aroma is malty with some hops. Taste is a smooth English ale, not too malty, some bitterness. Aftertaste is fresh, a nice beer. (Velp 201301)

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Transparent orange colour, average head, pretty dense, decent retention, low lacing. Subdued aroma shows hay and light caramel plus some floral hints. Taste is a little more bitter than the smell suggested but overall in good balance. Grainy and caramel malt base, lightly resinous, with floral hints and maybe a hint of spiciness. Still not so vivid... Light to medium body, with moderate crispness, easy and quick. Ok but very much unimpressive

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is what I think of when I’m wanting an English beer. A great balance between malt and hops with a nice earthy and sweet, lightly hoppy finish. Medium body. Flavorful without being narcissistic. Real good.

From estucerveza. In Ikea’s pint glass. Watching Los Soprano 3x13. Great example of drinkability. Probably the best english IPA ive tasted. Demonstrates that hops can be very pleasant even if they arent as explosive in mouth and nose as american hops

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
India ale pours a amber body, mid carbonation with a thin head, that didn’t leave any lacing. Slight hints of orange and some floral hops, Tastes of toffee, and malts with a nice bitter finish. Although i prefer american hop bombs, its still pretty good for an english IPA. Originally rated on 10/17/08.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a medium amber with a light pillow head lightly laced. Aromas spicy hops, toffee, caramel, slight grass. Flavors light spicy hops, slight grassy, toffee, caramel. Medium sweet and lightly bitter. I guess the standards in England are different than the US because this is nothing much like an IPA and everything like a bitter. Maybe more like an IPA if it was drank much sooner after bottling, but this bottle has some age to it. Tasty and good, yes sir.

I suppose this is what an old school IPA should be before the Americans wan away with the hope. This is a mellow ale with some slight hood bitterness. Very refreshing and session able.
