Poured into a glass stein. Copper to amber color with a white-barely-there head. Wow. I cannot pick up anything... okay, a slight malty/musty smell. Malty sweetness at first, then bitter, slightly citrus flavor. The malt and hops are fairly balanced. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Very bubbly in the mouth. Quite different from most American IPAs. Or maybe American IPAs are different from English IPAs. Either way, it is more malty than most IPAs I’ve had. The only hangup was the smell, or lack of. It was tasty and different.

So it’s actually not an India Pale Ale, but an India Ale, made by Britians for trade with India. It’s still very hoppy, with an added bitterness that is very unique and different to my American palate.

Not overly hoppy! Allows the natural flavors and scents to shine without being overwhelmed by hops. Nice color and head. Maltiness is just right, very well balanced!

Very smooth and well bodied for a good IPA. Nice palate and the appearance was top shelf. Aroma is one of the best.

"a little sweet, but the bittering hops do assert themselves. i prefer the more floral varieties of hops in west coast versions rather than english, but this is a decent example of the style."

550ml bottle served in a pint glass. A: Pours a deep amber copper color. Absolutely clear. Forms a big white bubbled white head. Good retention but not much lacings left S: Sweet and caramel malts in the nose. Toffee, honey and a bit fruity. Grassy and citrus hops in the end. Quite British T: Follows the nose. A slightly sweet upfront. Strong notes of toffee, caramel malts, honey, citric hops, grassy hops. A bit fruity. In overall, a dry taste and a good bitter hoppy end M: Light body. Medium carbonation. Caramel maltes and grassy hops aftertaste O: Quite drinkable and plasant British style IPA. Nice and smooth [ BA Review @ 2/26/2013 ]

Gyldenbrun. Høyt tett skum med litt farge. Skummet varer lenge. Tynn lacing. Nøtteaktig aroma. Smaken svakt fruktig men overraskende beskjeden. Aprikos. Avslutter litt bittert.
