Aroma of great pine hop, apple core, and caramel. Pours sparkly amber with a nice sticky head. Taste is nice with a caramel pine sap hop. Great rhubarb flavor.

Pours a golden orange, citrusy, flowery aroma, nice white one inch head, smooth Carmel flavor with bitterness at end, heavy then expected on the pallet.

550 ml bottle into imperial pint glass, bottled on 7/05/2012. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a nice 2 finger fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of orange zest, pear, apple, caramel, toffee, toast, bread, floral, grass, honey, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of fruity/floral hop and yeast notes with good malt balance; and solid strength. Taste of orange zest, pear, apple, caramel, toffee, floral, light pine, toast, bread, grass, honey, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of earthy floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of orange, light fruits, caramel, toffee, floral, light pine, toast, bread, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of moderate hop flavors; with a very balanced malt backbone and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a moderately creamy, smooth, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very good English IPA style. Very nice balance and complexity of hop and malt flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Aromas redolent of a light barleywine: nuts, toffee, toast, and caramel. Clear orange-copper with a fairly lasting, white head. Dry, bitter, somewhat toasty, and with a touch of caramel. Light-medium body, good carbonation, and finishes clean.

There’s nothing wrong with this and it’s a nice beer - it’s nicely balanced and very drinkable, but the flavours aren’t strong and the hop character isn’t that powerful. It’s fine, but not worth the premium price when there are far better bottles in Sam Smiths’ fridges or a pint of Old Brewery is almost as nice for half the price.

Doesn’t have a particularly strong aroma for an IPA. golden color, but the head is not very strong. It has a pleasant clean taste. The combinations work well together. Overall a decent brew.

Really let down by this one. The originators if the style. Not to say its without qualities. Vibrant breast nose. Hints if honey and maybe elder flower. Taste is of slight bitterness with a caramel finish. Where the let down is the hops and lack of punch. Overall a solid beer actually.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Pours clear golden with a nice white head leaving a nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is not too strong, malts, caramel not a whole lot of hops. Taste is very British, a well balanced combination of malts, grain some citrus from hops nice dry bitter finish. Very enjoyable and super drinkable beer.
