Looks nice in a glass, and has lots of banana-smelling esters that foreshadow the balanced yet wet flavor of this beer. First sip, hmmm this isnít what I was expecting, no hop kick on the back of the tongue. Second sip, okay, this is getting a little better. Third sip; wow, I see why they drink this in england. Really enjoyable banana esters that donít permeate the mouth totally, but warm the mouth instead. enjoyable

Strong toffee maltiness in the aroma with some tea and herbal hops. Deep orange color, thin beige crown. Toffee malt thoughout the flavor with some notes of tea, herbal hops and a floral finish. Mild bitterness. Medium body, quite smooth. This is an excellent English style IPA and is a great change from all of the American citrus hop bombs.

Bottle during CBC15. Golden with white head. Aroma and taste are malty, light earthy and grassy hops, fruit and light honey. Decent but not very complex

Pours amber with creamy froth. Aroma is low: honey, mango. Soft, mouth-covering, not as bitter as IPAs usually are. Medium finish.

tfontana (78) - Fremont, New Hampshire, USA - MAY 7, 2015
Bottle from Epsom Circle Market, Epsom, NH. Aroma is slightly metallic--like a bunch of coins sitting in a jar. Or like rotting food that needs to be brought out to the compost bin. Appearance is hazy orange-gold with two-finger frothy head that dissipates relatively quickly. Trace sparkling and light lacing. Taste is mild--only slightly sweet and bitter, but mainly sour. Palate is light-medium and texture is mostly thin with slight creaminess. Finish is bitter. Overall, not my cup of tea. I canít really comment whether this is good for the style or not--I think this is just not my style. Disappointing. Most stuff from this brewer I like.

poisoneddwarf (1909) - Rathdrum, Idaho, USA - MAY 3, 2015
550 ml bottle. Aroma is malty, fruity (apples), characteristic of the brewery. Pours clear copper with a thick beige head with decent retention; leaves some lace. Taste is sweet and malty, finishing with a lightly bitter hop bite. Ok.

18.7 oz bottle- Pours a slightly hazy golden orange with a large white head that slowly reduces. Aroma is earthy, floral, minerals similar to all Sam Smith beers, some peppery spice. Taste is caramel malts, citrusy, minerals, lightly hopped. Carbonation is medium and body is medium. Better than i thought it would be, love their stouts and porters, but am pretty accustomed to American IPAís, this isnít as intense and in your face as those, but this isnít too bad.

loubar (150) - Los Gatos, California, USA - APR 20, 2015
550 ml bottle from Cost Plus. Aroma of biscuit malt with a bit of hops. Hop-forward in flavor, but of the tame citrus variety, with minimal bitterness on a malty, biscuity base. Moderate carbonation and full-bodied. Flavorful throughout with a touch of dryness at the finish. So drinkable. A good example that a solid IPA doesnít have to be over the top.

Bottle poured a lightly hazed golden hue w/ huge fizzy white head. Mild bready aroma. Initial flavor is light sweet w/ a moderate bitter finish. Tastes are malty bread and earthy hops. Medium bodied and lively carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not the greatest beer but still very drinkable. Especially when feeling nostalgic.
