4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a beautifully clear nut brown. Aroma is mostly caramel malts against a clear water background with some mild spices, like cinnamon and some very mild hops. The taste is wet newspaper and strained hop against the thick malt background. I love this beer. Not for everyone, but I still think the Brits brew the best stuff.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a light copper color with a small floral aroma. Surprisingly only slight bitterness during and after the swallow of this beer. Minor maltiness that seemed to disappear and blend well throughout this beer making very easy drinking. A good beer for the style.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bought a holiday 3 pack that has this, Oatmeal Stout, and Chocolate Stout along with a glass and a couple coasters. Little aroma, copper color, has a little bitter taste and finish, but a good amount of malt to balance it.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from a gift box Christmas present
A: Clear copper color with a great many bubbles rising in the midst and a fluffy, foamy off-white head.
N: Biscuit, cracker, earth, white peppercorn, some pine, minerality, wheat, hint of coriander and maybe clove. Bready with a topping of light hops.
T: Lightly bitter, lightly sweet.
M: Lighter body, creamy carbonation, no alcohol presence.
O: Quality ESB. The artesian flavor of the well strikes me very strongly in this one; it’s interesting how that quality sets this brewery apart. It is a bit of a light puncher in the midst of American hopping - so one ought to be aware that this closer to the ’real’ style.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
From a three bottle gift pack from LCBO Hawkesbury (Ontario). Dark gold, medium head. Sweet barley and pale malt, very light. The taste is about the same, a bit bitter and dry, vegetable aftertaste. That is a crappy bitter!

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a beautiful amber, small white head with minimal lacing. A fairly malty aroma with a slight floral note. Medium in its bitterness, ever so slightly sweet. Mouthfeel is thin, leaves the mouth dry with a light and lingering bitterness. Overall, very average. Needed more from the hops.
