Apparently a watered down version of their Yorkshire bitter to take advantage of the 2.8% tax hack.

Draught (Swan & Three Cygnets, Durham) - Amber in colour. Caramel, sultanas and dried apricot in the aroma. Fruity, malty and slightly nutty taste with notes of toffee, caramel and sultanas.

Tap at Glasshouse Stores. It pours amber with a medium beige head. The nose is earthy, toasty, dirt and brown bread. The taste is watery, toasty, earth, light spice and brown bread......drying on the finish. Light body and soft carbonation. Pretty plain. Not a whole lot of anything to it. Inoffensive however.

Keg at the Duke of Argyll, Sam Smithís - Soho, London. Pours perfectly clear, rich gold with a thick, creamy white head. Lightly toasted bready malts in the nose, suggestions of berries and caramel. Light sweet flavor with further toasted malts, light nuttiness, dry caramel, very faint grainy bitterness. Light bodied with soft to fine carbonation. Sweet and basic to finish with easy toasted bread and caramel. Simple and inoffensive but easily drank.

Keg, at the brewery in Tadcaster. Light bronze, w thick head. Not much aroma. Keggy mf feels funny. Has some mellow burnt caramel malts and little else. Still, thatís all right for a pale mild.

Keg @ Wortley Almshouses, Peterborough. Amber gold with a big beige cask head. Slightly sour smell with caramel notes. The sourness doesnít carry to the taste: sweet, malty and refreshing. Not much to it but there isnít supposed to be. And at £1.40 a pint, itís even better!

On tap at the Fitzrovia Tavern London. Some brown malt. Vague hop on finish. Malty aroma. Itís a light mild and a good version. Utterly drinkable. A little papery on the finish. But light and drinkable. Good

Keg tap at the Windsor Castle, Wesminster, 31/10/13. Clear golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is bready malt, sugars, biscuit, caramel. Taste comprises light bitter fruit, biscuit malt, bread dough, earthy, light yeast tones. Light to medium in bodiment, moderate carbonation, light bitter notes in the finale. Pretty mediocre.

Cask@Swan and Three Signets, Durham. Amber beer with a strong white head. The aroma is very lightly roasted, and the flavour is quite bitter with toffee and roasted'ness. Overall a reasonable creamy textured roasted and toffee flavoured beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Smooth with a large creamy head. Has a crisp copper colour, is more like a best than a mild.

Keg @ Brown Bear, Sheffield 021112
Amber, clear, dense white head
Aroma of soft caramel malt
Taste of soft caramel malt, hint of toffee, soft cereal malt, pretty ok for 2.8% abv
Palate - soft carb, thinnish body but had some creaminess. Finish as main flavour with soft caramel
Overall - Often these low abv beer have some slight off putting flavours in them, and comes across as too watery. This had a reasonable texture and no bad flavours - ok itís a simple beer, but tasted fine for the abv and cost less than peanuts for a half (68p)
