Very easy to find at most liquor stores, so I suggest you pick it up next time you are in there. A solid brown ale. yesyouam (589), Fairport, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 29, 2008 Samuel Smith’s Nut Brown Ale is a clear brown-red ale with a yellow sand-colored head that’s dense and foamy and leaves nice lacing. It has a nutty, roasty, sour aroma with notes of tamari and chocolate. It’s a bit muted by the head. It’s medium bodied, smooth and a bit foamy with a clean, dry finish. The flavor is nutty with notes of soy sauce, leather and possibly black currant. It’s funky and very English. It has a roasty, bitter, almost sooty finish that lingers for a bit. It’s a very Northern English Brown Ale. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA
