Long nutty finish JonR888710 (999), Cochabamba, Bolivia Jul 10, 2008 Pours a clear amber brown. Head is large, recedes to a thin sheet of fine bubbles. Smells of yeast, clay and toffee. Taste is well balanced, spicy, biscuit, toffee, pepper. High quality. Bitter dark roasted coffee ends it. Drank from 550ml bottle purchased at Wegman’s, at the Wolf Trap. BeerEssential (96), Massachusetts, USA Jul 10, 2008 Pours a somewhat hazzy, deep brown with an off-white head that settles down to a thin, but present, layer. Mild aromas of roasted barley and nuts. Taste is nutty and malty with some bitterness, but hardly overpowering. Nicely rounded and tasty without over-emphasing any particular element. drjay44 (760), Salida, Colorado, USA Jul 9, 2008 Poured a nice head with creamy color which rapidly settled. Minimal lacing, nice pleasant non hoppy nose, great brownish red color, mild malty flavor with good nut characteristics with a light finish. A bit too light on the tongue.
