WesKBob (317), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA Jan 12, 2008 I’d actually ordered something else, of which the bar was out, so this was actually my second pick. A very pleasant surprise. A beautiful dark brown color with a thick, lasting head. Sweet malty aroma. A surprising mildly sweet and nutty flavor, with just the right amount of bitterness. Very smooth drinking. daniellerose7 (119), new york, New York, USA Jan 12, 2008 Drinky drinky!! A really great Brown Ale, and so drinkable!! Drink up! Cheerio! gabbama (115), Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, USA Jan 12, 2008 Aroma of sweet malt. Nice sweet nutty taste with bitterness comming out on the finish. Pricey, but definately worth drinking once in a while. jaghouse (25), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA Jan 10, 2008 Fairly sweet and just a tad bitter. So freakin smooth. A good beer that everyone could enjoy. I wish it were a bit cheaper. I will buy again. kidmartinek (972), austin, Texas, USA Jan 10, 2008 Lots of tan foam. A dark dark brown pour witha tinge or red. Very maple, cashew aroma and taste. Light clean finish, for such a heavy ale. amee16 (62), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA Jan 8, 2008 lighter palate than expected but definitely nutty with slight hoppy flavor. I will re-rate when I can smell better. demdeac40 (238), Etowah, North Carolina, USA Jan 7, 2008 Updated: Jan 21, 2008Pours a nice brown with a small head that stays around. The nose is malt with a touch of butterscotch. The flavor is a little too mild. A nice touch of toffee but it is really light. Finishes clean with just a touch of bitterness. I need more malty characteristics. Tried a second one last night and the flavors were more pronounced. Gotta raise my old score a little bit. cheapdark (2011), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 4, 2008 Not much aroma in the forefront. An iced tea color. Decent below average carbonation, nearly flat. Quite mild on the taste buds. Tries to be bitter but never really gets there. Overall a relatively acceptable ale on my lagaer loving taste buds. Has some imposing personality but it’s well behaved for the most part.
