Oct 16, 2007 Bottle. Clear, brown pour, with a deep reddish hue, and topped by a creamy, beige head. The nose is on the malty side, with caramel and roasted malt. A little hoppy note is present as well. The flavor is roasted and caramellish as well, with a nice bitterness that lasts all the way to the finish. Quite sweet as well. There’s also a little touch of alcohol in the background, and the finish has a little metallic hint and some dried fruits. Medium body. Definately a classic brown ale, but it would be nice to get rid of the metallic note. (071016)

Oct 15, 2007 pours red brown with a thin tan head. nice clean malt aroma, some caramel. taste is malt, burnt brown sugar, wood, moderate bitter hop on tail end. palate is a bit thin when cold but rounds out nicely as it warms. a slight acidic flavor does hang in your mouth a bit but that would be the only downside. this is a solid brown ale on all fronts.

Oct 14, 2007 Deep brown pour which fades to amber on the edges. Fairly dense, off-white head. Not much on the nose, but sweet malt greets one on the first sip. Slgith fig presence, the carbonation is refreshing but the body a little thin. Surprising finish, very drinkable.

Oct 13, 2007 355ml bottle served lightly chilled at Blå Rock Cafe, Tromsø. Mahogany body with good clarity and topped by a filmy, brownish layer. Aroma has got hints of roasted malty sweetness. Flavour of dark caramel, wood and sweet malts ending up with coffee bitterness. Well bodied (12.10.2007).

Oct 11, 2007 Bottle. Pours dark brown with then thin beige head. A little nutty but I wouldve expected more. Not that complex. Tad harsh on the palate, and just an all right flavor. Oh well.

Oct 9, 2007 550ml bottle. Nice amberish clear brown with a thin white head. Smells of nuts and malt. Very nutty taste with fait hints of chocolate. Pretty clean finish. Very drinkable.
