Brewed at Samuel Smith’s small, traditional British brewery with well water (the original well sunk in 1758 is still in use), best barley malt, roasted barley, yeast and aromatic hops. Nut Brown Ale is relatively dry with a rich amber-brown colour and nutty flavour derived exclusively from small amounts of dark malt. Brown ales are a specialty of northern England. Fermented in ’stone Yorkshire squares’.

Bottle from cellarbrations super store in hami hill. Pours browny amber with a thin tan head. Aroma is fairly mild but you do get quite a bit if caramel and hazelnut up front with perhaps a tinge of grass from the hops. Body is light and carbonation low. It drinks pleasantly but nothing really jumps out. There's some caramel and hazelnut like the aroma suggests with a slight hoppy finish. It becomes slightly sugary as it warms up too. Not too bad but nothing out of the ordinary

Bottle (355 ml) bought @ Winooski Beverage Warehouse.

Appearance: Hazy amber/brown with a small off-white/beige head and little lacing.

Aroma: Quite nutty with toffee along light fruitiness and roasted notes.

Taste: Mild. Hazelnuts, light toffee, hints of fruits and light roasted notes.

Palate: Medium body. Moderate to medium carbonation. A bit thin mouthfeel. Mild nutty finish.

Overall: Mild, but well balanced and easily drinkable nut brown ale. Tasty despite being mild.

It pours a medium brown color with a small off white head. It has the aroma of nuts, toast, cereal and caramel. It tastes like caramel, toffee, nuts and toast. This is another great beer from this brewery. I’m glad that I bought it and will try to drink more from this brewery in the future.

ASPETTO: mogano abbastanza scuro con riflessi rubino, schiuma fine, poco abbondante e poco resistente. AROMA: caramelloso e fruttato, note di marzapane. Molto invitante.

Bottle, 550 ml. Pours dark brown/ruby with a finger of cream coloured head. Moderate lacing. Rather spicy on the nose, with the likes of nutmeg, vanilla and coriander at the forefront of a solid caramel and brown sugar malt base with plenty of almonds. A few dark fruits, milk chocolate and even a bit of navy rum also make appearances. Lots going on here. Wholemeal bread and muscavado sugar dominate the taste, with the spicy and nutty edges sticking around though perhaps less distinctively so. Finish is very dry with further nutty elements, more specifically walnut and hazelnut now. Body is decent medium with oily texture and average carbonation; no complaints here.
