It’s always hard to rate a classic, but here goes. Deep reddish-brown beer with thick light brown head that coats the glass in a thin film. Nose has a predominant sourness combined with sweet malt and nuts. Taste is sweet upfront with a touch of sourness that then settles into notes of caramel with a light bitterness that complements the initial flavors beautifully. I love brown ale and this is undoubtedly a good one. Highly recommended.

Still as good a Nut Brown Ale as there is. Complex in flavour and genuinely consistant as drinking it for over 25 years.

18.7oz bottle 5/7/13 (Jewel Clearance Rack)-48° in Mug-Pours a medium brown with a small loose tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, and toffee. Taste of the same with some nutty aspects coming thru. This medium bodied brew is pretty darn tasty.
