Brewed at Samuel Smith’s small, traditional British brewery with well water (the original well sunk in 1758 is still in use), best barley malt, roasted barley, yeast and aromatic hops. Nut Brown Ale is relatively dry with a rich amber-brown colour and nutty flavour derived exclusively from small amounts of dark malt. Brown ales are a specialty of northern England. Fermented in ’stone Yorkshire squares’.

Poured into a tulip glass. A medium brown color, almost the same as the color of the label. Two fingers of dirty head that held nicely. Quite an experience for the nose: nutmeg, alcohol (weird with so low ABV) and grain. Good malt at first but not sweet. Followed by candy sweet, then a slightly bitter ending. Silky smooth, low carbonation and medium bodied. What a treat. Outstanding beer. The texture was incredible. Find some now for yourself.

Poured from bottle...nice creamy brown pour with huge head...light lacing...nose is all roasted chestnuts some hops and malt....flavor better than the smell would suggest.

I bought this bottle at drink of the world in Zürich. I drank it tonight. This beer is not bad, average. The taste is close to a German Bock. The body is brown and the foam is thin, average carbonation. The taste is a little smocked, dry malt, plum and discreet note of nuts at the final, a bit watery, some hop.

From estucerveza. In Ikea’s pint glass. After dinner. Raisins, nutty, with a good amount of bitter hops. Amazing in aroma, pretty drinkable and good taste

Mørkebrun med skum der hurtigt forsvinder. Hasselnødder og brændte mandler, men uden at være sødlig.

Pours a very slightly reddish brown from a bottle, off-white head leaves some lacing. Aroma is a bready toffee. Flavor is like bread dough with some caramel, rather watery, a little metallic although that’s fading as I drink it. Good beer.

Nutty and malty with the flavors coming from the malts. Has the classic slightly rusty sam smiths taste (which is surprisingly pleasant it tastes of bronze and tradition)
